The 2021 NFL preseason comes to end this weekend. Reduced to a three-game schedule, it is hard to know how NFL head coaches will approach this final opportunity to get their team ready for opening day.
Keeping all your starters healthy in the preseason is always a top priority. Yet, there are numerous position battles across all 32 NFL teams that will be played out over these final exhibition games. There could be a slight uptick in the competitive nature of these games with so many jobs on the line.
Here are my top five bets for OVER/UNDER plays on the Week 3 preseason betting board:

Philadelphia Eagles vs. New York Jets Preview
Best Bet: UNDER 33.5 Points
This has been a traditional pairing in the final week of the preseason for the past several years. The Eagles were held scoreless in a loss to New England in their second preseason game after losing to Pittsburgh 24-16. The Jets are 2-0 in the preseason with a 1-1 split on the total line.
The total has stayed UNDER in four of the last five meetings between the two in New Jersey. It has also stayed UNDER in four of New York’s last five games against the NFC. Look for another low-scoring battle this Friday night.
Minnesota Vikings at Kansas City Chiefs Preview
Vikings vs. Chiefs Predictions
Best Bet: OVER 34.5 Points
The Vikings have managed to score a total of 16 points in a pair of preseason losses. Kansas City won both of its games with the total staying UNDER in close road victories against San Francisco and Arizona.
Despite each team’s early preseason performance, scoring should be a bit more prevalent on Friday night. The total has gone OVER in nine of the Vikings’ last 12 AFC games. It has gone OVER in six of Kansas City’s last seven games against the NFC North.
Green Bay Packers at Buffalo Bills Preview
Best Bet: OVER 34.5 Points
As two of the more entertaining offenses in the NFL, this would be a great regular season matchup. Green Bay has only logged 21 combined points in preseason losses to Houston and the NY Jets. The Bills, on the other hand, look to be in mid-season from after rolling up 41 points last week in a road win against Chicago.
The total has gone OVER in six of the Packers’ last seven preseason games. It has also gone OVER in six of Buffalo’s last seven games played in August. Look for both teams to find the end zone a bit more often in Saturday’s contest.
Baltimore Ravens at Washington Football Team Preview
Ravens vs. Washington Predictions
Best Bet: UNDER 31.5 Points
The Ravens won each of their first two preseason games by holding their opponents to a combined 17 points. Both contests easily stayed UNDER the closing line. Washington is 1-1 straight-up this preseason with each game staying UNDER as well.
As one of the lowest total lines on the board, there is the temptation to lean towards a higher scoring result. However, the total has stayed UNDER in eight of the last 10 meetings between these two teams at FedEx Field.
New England Patriots at New York Giants Preview
Patriots vs. Giants Predictions
Best Bet: UNDER 33.5 Points
The Patriots made easy work of Philadelphia in last week’s 35-0 shutout. The Giants have lost each of their first two preseason games while scoring a combined 20 points. Each loss stayed UNDER the closing total line.
The total has stayed UNDER in six of the last seven meetings between the two in New Jersey. It has also stayed UNDER in New England’s last five road games. The total has stayed UNDER in the Giants last five games at home.
