The men’s Olympic rowing competition at the 2024 Paris Olympics is set up to be a wild ride.

Great Britain comes in as the favorite in two team competitions, while Oliver Zeidler is the early favorite to take home gold for Germany in the Single Sculls.

You can also bet on the women’s Olympic rowing odds, but I’ll get you started on the men’s side with this guide, complete with the top betting favorites and my predictions.

Men’s Eights Odds

  • Great Britain +115
  • Netherlands +300
  • Australia +350
  • United States +500
  • Germany +1400
  • Romania +2500
  • Italy +4000

Great Britain appears to offer solid value with +115 men’s eights rowing odds. They only managed to win the bronze medal in Tokyo four years ago, but they did win gold in 2016 and have at least placed in four straight Olympics.

Their recent form is probably what is getting them interest from the top online sports betting sites, though, as they won their initial heat and later claimed first place at the 2023 World Rowing Championships.

Great Britain is a solid bet, but there’s considerable value in this men’s Olympic rowing betting market. The Netherlands are a worthwhile contender after winning bronze in 2016, while they also took second at the 2023 World Rowing Championships.

Australia finished third in that event and unsurprisingly comes into the Paris Games with the third best men’s eights rowing odds.

As far as elite betting value goes, I can’t ignore the United States or Germany. The Americans are projected to win the most gold medals at this year’s Summer Olympics, while Germany won silver in this event in Tokyo.

They were upset by New Zealand, but with the Kiwis not in this competition, perhaps Germany can get back to their dominant ways.

Germany offers stellar value for sports bettors at their +1400 price tag, as they have won silver or better in each of the last three Summer Games in this event. Due to their experience and talent, I think they’re an amazing bet.

Bet: Germany +1400

Men’s Fours Odds

  • Great Britain -130
  • United States +180
  • New Zealand +500
  • Australia +1000
  • Netherlands +1600
  • Romania +3300
  • Switzerland +5000
  • France +6600
  • Italy +6600

Great Britain is a viable bet for two major categories, but if you’re betting on them to win a men’s rowing event, this is it. They’re coming in as stellar -130 favorites, and it’s arguable they should have a far better shot at gold after winning the top prize in five of the last six Olympics.

That is a wild stat, but it’s worth noting that Great Britain took a backseat in Tokyo. Can they bounce back and get back to the top of the podium? The top Olympics betting sites seem to think so.

The Americans are the next best bet at +180 odds, and they do look live here after showing well in their first heat in Tokyo. They didn’t ultimately place, but they did well, and competed again en route to a 5th place finish at the 2023 World Rowing Championships.

New Zealand offers far greater value, however, while the Netherlands and Australia are going to be tough to ignore, as well. The Netherlands ranked second at the WRC in 2023, while Australia finished third.

Romania may be the best value bet of all in this event, though. They finished second in Tokyo four years ago, and were in the thick of it for the World Rowing Championships, too.

I think you can consider some of these teams due to value, but Great Britain has absolutely dominated this men’s rowing category and I expect them to continue their reign in 2024.

Bet: Great Britain -130

Quadruple Sculls Odds

  • Netherlands -185
  • Italy +550
  • Great Britain +650
  • Poland +1000
  • Germany +2000
  • Switzerland +4000
  • Romania +5000
  • Norway +8000
  • Estonia +10000

Usually if there is a blatantly obvious betting favorite, it’s a pretty good sign to back the top team or just move along. I think that’s probably what we’re looking at with the Netherlands in the Quadruple Sculls.

The Netherlands keep coming up in just about every men’s rowing competition, but they’re especially compelling in an event that they won gold in four years ago in Tokyo.

They stormed out with the best time in their initial heat during that competition, and ended up outlasting Great Britain. They also dominated at the 2023 World Rowing Championships, trying for the most total medals (nine) and the most gold medals (six).

Great Britain finished second to them in Tokyo, and was the squad to tie them in both major medal categories at the 2023 WRC, as well.

In terms of value, don’t write off the likes of Germany in this event. They’ve had a lot of success here and offer loads of experience. After winning gold in the Quadruple Sculls in both 2012 and 2016, I think they’re worth a flier bet.

That said, the Netherlands perform especially well in this competition, and have been in fantastic form dating back to Tokyo.

Bet: Netherlands -185

Single Sculls Odds

  • Oliver Zeidler +125
  • Simon Van Dorp +175
  • Stefanos Ntouskos +500
  • Thomas Mackintosh +600
  • Yauheni Zalaty +2000
  • Sverri Nielson +2800
  • Damir Martin +5000
  • Ryuta Arakawa +6600

Germany’s Oliver Zeidler enters the 2024 Paris Games as the odds-on favorite to win the men’s Single Sculls event. He has yet to claim gold here, but he was very competitive in Tokyo, as he made it to the Semifinals before bowing out of the competition.

The 28-year old has since picked up the pace, claiming first place at the 2022 and 2023 World Championships, and also winning gold at the 2024 European Championships.

Simon Van Dorp is another viable threat with +175 men’s rowing odds, but the athlete that really stands out is undeniably Ntouskos. The Greece representative won gold in Tokyo and reminded everyone how tough of an out he can be when he won silver at the 2024 European Championships.

If you’re looking for more betting value, don’t leave out Damir Martin. He’s a bit long in the tooth at age 36, but he’s been a podium mainstay with a bronze and silver medal won over the last two Olympics.

Could he be ready to rise up and beat out some of these young rowing studs before he’s done with the Summer Games for good? It’s unlikely, but at +5000 odds, I don’t mind rolling the dice.

Overall, I’d stick with the top contenders, namely Zeidler and perhaps a dash of Ntouskos.

Bet: Oliver Zeidler +125

Betting on Men’s Rowing at the 2024 Paris Games

That does it for my breakdown of the latest men’s Olympic rowing odds. As you can see, there are several favorites worth backing, and there is a good amount of value at your disposal.

I think sticking with the top men’s rowing favorites is the most logical play. Not only are some of them in dominant form and have a leg up in terms of talent or experience, but they also have welcoming price tags.

Of the lot, my favorite men’s Olympic rowing pick is Germany to bounce back and score a huge win in the men’s eights rowing competition. There are seemingly safer plays, but their price is too attractive, all things considered.

Keep in mind that more men’s rowing odds could be pushed live at your favorite sportsbooks. Mix my preferred men’s Olympic rowing picks with your own – and whatever wagers pop up – and work your way to a winning summer.
