The NBA action continues this Sunday, April 2nd, with a stacked slate of 13 match-ups to enjoy. You will be pleased to learn that I have scoured the odds to find the best NBA player props for today’s games. Read on to discover my top five picks.
D’Angelo Russell – Over 5.5 Assists (-120)
Having won five of their last six encounters, the Los Angeles Lakers will be confident of dispatching the Houston Rockets on Sunday, as the Rockets remain at the foot of the Western Conference with a record following a run of seven losses in eight games.
D’Angelo Russell recorded 10 assists during the Lakers’ 12-point victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves last time out, so he shouldn’t struggle to notch over 5.5 assists against lowly Houston. After all, Russell has registered over 5.5 assists in seven of his previous nine appearances.
Kevin Durant – Over 26.5 Points (-105)
Kevin Durant returned from an ankle injury to grab 16 points, eight rebounds and four assists against Minnesota earlier this week. Last time out, Durant scored 30 points in the Phoenix Suns’ impressive nine-point win against the Denver Nuggets.
With that in mind, I’m confident that Durant will record over 26.5 points against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday. The high-flying Suns find themselves fourth in the Western Conference following four straight victories, while off-form Oklahoma occupies tenth place in the standings.
Giannis Antetokounmpo – Over 11.5 Rebounds (-140)
By his own high standards, Giannis Antetokounmpo produced a below-par performance during the Milwaukee Bucks’ heavy defeat to the Boston Celtics last time out. Even so, the MVP contender still managed to contribute 24 points and seven rebounds.
Let’s not forget that Antetokounmpo ranks third in rebounds per game in the NBA this season, averaging 11.8 rebounds per game. Having notched 17 rebounds against the Indiana Pacers earlier this week, the Greek Freak looks set to register over 11.5 rebounds against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Darius Garland – Over 7.5 Assists (-145)
Pacers vs. Cavaliers Prediction
Not only have the Cleveland Cavaliers won four of their last six games, but they have also won nine of their previous 13. As a result, the Cavaliers have clinched a playoff spot and will be confident of overcoming the Indiana Pacers on Sunday.
Cleveland’s Darius Garland racked up nine assists against the New York Knicks last time out, meaning the 23-year-old has bagged 7+ assists in 10 of his previous 14 outings. For that reason, I’m backing Garland to record over 7.5 assists against struggling Indiana.
Klay Thompson – Under 19.5 Points (-115)
Warriors vs. Nuggets Prediction
Klay Thompson enjoyed plenty of success against the San Antonio Spurs last time out, scoring 31 points. However, Thompson has failed to hit the 20-point mark in six of his last nine appearances, so he may not enjoy the same success against the Denver Nuggets.
Over in the Western Conference, Thompson’s Golden State Warriors find themselves four places below the Nuggets, who are flying high at the summit of the standings. With that in mind, I expect the Warriors – and Thompson – to struggle on Sunday.
