Dave’s Top 10 Best Bets College Football Week 11

Riding Liberty’s big straight-up upset over Virginia Tech, I was able to post a winning 6-4 record against the spread in last Saturday’s Top 10 college football picks for ScoresAndStats.

Facing a full slate of games in Week 11 of the NCAAF season, I came up with this week’s 10 best bets.

(#15) Coastal Carolina Chanticleers at Troy Trojans Picks: Coastal Carolina -8½

This pick is all about riding a hot hand. Coastal Carolina moved to 7-0 SU on the year with last Saturday’s 23-6 victory against South Alabama. That game ended as a PUSH but the Chanticleers did cover in their previous four games.

(#12) Georgia Bulldogs at Missouri Tigers Picks: Georgia -13

Last week’s SU loss to Florida cost me at the betting window. It also cost the Bulldogs dearly in their quest for a national title. I am expecting a strong response from Georgia this Saturday against the 2-3 SU Tigers.

(#9) Miami Hurricanes at Virginia Tech Hokies Picks: OVER 64½

Miami should win this game SU as a slight 2½-point road underdog. After losing to Liberty last week, the rest of the Hokies’ season could quickly unravel. The best play in this one is the OVER. Each of these defenses have struggled at times.

Penn State Nittany Lions at Nebraska Cornhuskers Picks: Penn State -3

One of these teams should get its first SU victory this season and I am banking on Penn State. The Nittany Lions were clearly overrated with three straight losses SU and ATS. However, they are still a much better team than Nebraska.

Memphis Tigers at Navy Midshipmen Picks: Navy +9½

This is my pick of the week in the AAC. Memphis has won four of its first six games SU but it has only covered the spread in one of those outings. Navy has played tough as a double-digit underdog in recent losses to Houston and SMU.

(#2) Notre Dame Fighting Irish at Boston College Eagles Picks: OVER 50½

We could see a bit of a letdown this Saturday with Notre Dame giving 12½ points to a bitter rival on the road. BC has already given Clemson a close call this season and I have the Eagles scoring enough points to take this game’s total OVER.

(#3) Ohio State Buckeyes at Maryland Terrapins Picks: Maryland +27

Ohio State is the clear class of the Big Ten this season in its 3-0 SU (1-2 ATS) start. I still think Maryland can keep the final score closer than expected riding the momentum of last week’s SU upset over Penn State.

Auburn Tigers at Mississippi State Bulldogs Picks: Auburn -14½

The Tigers hammered LSU 48-11 back on Oct. 31 as one-point home favorites. They also knocked off Ole Miss on the road. My concern in this one is the Bulldogs and their 1-5 record ATS. I do not trust them to cover that many points this Saturday afternoon.

(#1) Alabama Crimson Tide at LSU Tigers Picks: OVER 74½

You would think that Alabama covers the 24 points on the road to avenge last year’s bitter loss to the Tigers. However, I am more confident that these two bitter SEC West rivals score more than 74 points combined. The Tide should score at least 50 points on their own.

(#13) Wisconsin Badgers at Michigan Wolverines Picks: Wisconsin -1½

There is not much to go when it comes to Wisconsin with just one game under its belt. However, Michigan could actually be worse than its 1-2 (SU and ATS) start suggests. The Badgers are 5- 1 ATS in their last six games against the Wolverines.
