NFL Week 1 Anytime Touchdown Scorer Props Picks

The Alabama Crimson Tide is the #1 collegiate team in the nation and the defending national champion. They customarily send plenty of playmakers into the pros. And many of them are going to play a major role in Sunday’s NFL games.

So our philosophy with this week’s touchdown scorer props is to “Roll Tide.”

And so with that in mind, let’s take a look at our…

Remember, these are odds for the player to score a TD anytime in the game.

Tua Tagovailoa to Score a TD Anytime in Week 1

Dolphins vs. Patriots Picks

Time: 4:25 PM ET – Sunday, September 12

TD Scoring Odds: +300 to be “Anytime” scorer

No, Jaylen Waddle is not the former member of the Tide who we’re spotlighting for this one. Tua did not rack up big rushing numbers while he was playing for Nick Saban, but there is no question that he’s pretty good on his feet, and he scored three touchdowns on 36 carries in 2020. We know that the Dolphins’ offensive plan is to give him more time with two-tight end alignments. Even so, he’s at that point in his development that he may pull down the ball and run with it a little too early. Let’s put it this way; he’s a lot more likely to take matters into his own hands than former Tide teammate Mac Jones, who is making his NFL debut with the Patriots.

NFL Lines

Calvin Ridley to Score a TD Anytime in Week 1

Eagles vs. Falcons Picks

Time: 1 PM ET – Sunday, September 12

TD Scoring Odds: -105 to be “Anytime” scorer

Ridley exploded last year, with 90 catches for 1374 yards. And as far as the “fantasy”stuff is concerned, there are huge expectations of him, as he is universally listed as one of the top wide receivers.

With the departure of Julio Jones to Tennessee, Ridley is very solidly #1 in the Falcons’ receiver group. Indeed, when Jones wasn’t in the lineup over the last two seasons, Ridley was on the other end of four more targets per game than when Jones was playing.

First-year head coach Arthur Smith appears to have come in with some new ideas. And we’re going to have to see whether the Eagles can bring together enough pass rush pressure to rattle Ryan. Ridley is always a threat for the big play.

Najee Harris to Score a TD Anytime in Week 1

Steelers vs. Bills Picks

Time: 1 PM ET – Sunday, September 12

TD Scoring Odds: +120 be “Anytime” scorer

The Steelers were dead last in the National Football League in rushing last season. I mean, they had NO ground game at all, and that left things in the hands of Ben Roethlisberger too much, and that’s not going to get the job done with an offensive line that may not be as good as it was last year.

That’s why they drafted Najee Harris; to give themselves more balance in the offense. He has the ability to be the workhorse in the backfield, and you can be assured that Pittsburgh is going to want to show him off as he is fresh out of the gate.

Buffalo has had the reputation for aggressive, hard-nosed defense, and especially as they have a former defensive coordinator (Sean McDermott) as their head coach. But this defense has regressed, with Josh Allen and the offensive attack compensating for it. The Bills yielded 4.7 yards per carry last year.

NFL Predictions

Jerry Jeudy to Score a TD Anytime in Week 1

Broncos vs. Giants Picks

Time: 4:25 PM ET – Sunday, September 12

TD Scoring Odds: +190 to be “Anytime” scorer

As a rookie, Jeudy saw more targets than any other Denver receiver. And he has the ability to make the big play too, as he averaged 16.5 yards per catch. That’s got to translate into some touchdowns.

And the Broncos’ staff has been on his case to hold onto the ball. Last year he had the second most drops of any receiver. Well, all he’s got to do is hold on to one of them in the end zone.

Derrick Henry to Score a TD Anytime in Week 1

Cardinals vs. Titans Picks

Time: 1 PM ET – Sunday, September 12

TD Scoring Odds: -225 to be “Anytime” scorer

An interesting choice for the Titans might be Julio Jones, who is, of course, an Alabama alum. But he missed three weeks of training camp, and then Ryan Tannehill spent some time on the COVID list. So the two have not had a lot of time to work together.

The concern with Henry is that he may suffer from wear and tear after these last couple of years as he has carried the ball 681 times. But he ought to be relatively fresh at the outset. Keep in mind that the former Heisman Trophy winner has scored 35 touchdowns in his last 31 games.
