Week 3 of the college football season is here, and that means it is time for five more over/under bets for this week. There are a few more interesting games this week to pick and then a few more ugly ones that stand out from a betting perspective as well.

Nebraska vs. Oklahoma Week 2 Preview

Nebraska vs. Oklahoma Over/Under Pick

Best Bet: OVER 61.5 Points

This is a spot where I think we could see a lot of outcomes that lead to an over. We saw Tulane with a mobile QB and a good gameplan pull off plenty of offensive drives by taking advantage of a lot of mismatches on the perimeter. While we would expect Oklahoma to look into this for this game, I don’t expect them to have all the answers in this game. I think those answers and stops will come with turnovers instead of sound defensive plays.

Even if the Sooners do step up on defense, we could easily see a 50 spot from the Sooners in any game, especially one where we could see a bunch of turnovers if the defense does show up. This means that we should see either the field position/possessions for the Sooners to get there for us if Nebraska cannot move the ball well enough to score 3 TDs.

Cincinnati vs. Indiana Week 2 Preview

Cincinnati vs. Indiana Over/Under Picks

Best Bet: UNDER 50 Points

This is a game with two solid defensive units, and that is what I am betting on here. I also want to fade Michael Penix Jr. every single game as his stock is just higher than I think that it should be. Penix is very, very willing to throw the ball up there, and this Cincy defense will take advantage of his mistakes. I expect more interceptions in this game, and that should hurt their offense. Really, this should just look like the Indiana Iowa game with a bit more offense for Cincy with a mobile QB and two less pick-6’s that really carried that score.

Alabama vs. Florida Week 2 Preview

Alabama vs. Florida Over/Under Pick

Best Bet: OVER 58.5 Points

This is another game where I expect the game script to get us over this total regardless of the performance of certain sides of the ball. I expect the Gators to make some plays throughout the game. Dan Mullen is a great play-caller and schemer, and I’d assume this game has been on his radar since January. I am concerned about the overall Florida roster talent, but I think that they will score enough to make this over clear easily.

I am also a bit worried about the Alabama offense and the assumption that it is anywhere near last year’s unit. However, Florida’s defense isn’t good, and the Crimson Tide will still create explosive plays in the passing game that inflate the total.

College Football Picks

Tulsa vs. Ohio State Week 2 Preview

Tulsa vs. Ohio State Over/Under Pick

Best Bet: OVER 60.5 Points

Well, the book is clearly out on Kerry Coombs and this Ohio State defense, and I think that we’d be foolish to think that even a subpar offense cannot score a bit on this team as they experiment. They are using seven linebackers, and their highest snap player vs. Oregon on the defensive side of the ball was a true freshman playing corner, which is almost unheard of at an elite program. Again, this is an over that I like because if Tulsa doesn’t score, Ohio State will score PLENTY.

Particularly since they have the best QB depth and WR depth in the country in garbage time. I’d expect them to try and get the backups involved in the event that this is a blowout in the third quarter.

Fresno State vs. UCLA Week 2 Preview

Fresno State vs. UCLA Over/Under Pick

Best Bet: OVER 63.5 Points

These offenses are very impressive, and I think that the Fresno State big plays are inevitable, and UCLA’s offensive front should be able to dominate yet again. Fresno State struggled early vs. Oregon but eventually showed real upside, and I just love the offense and scheme they have when it comes to making plays regardless of opponent. UCLA has shown that they will put up points in different ways and that they have the ability to push other teams around if need be.
