The Boston Celtics finally got it done last season, as they made it back to the NBA Finals for the second time in three years and secured a title for the first time since 2009-10.

Jayson Tatum can finally officially be mentioned among the top Celtics greats, and he and his crew will undeniably have the league on notice going forward. As soon as the 2024-25 NBA season, Boston will be looking to win yet another title, giving the franchise a real shot at repeating.

Early NBA odds at online sportsbooks do just that, as Boston has the best price tag among NBA Championship hopefuls. Naturally, the Celtics are shaping up as a lock to make the playoffs this year, and will be in contention for the NBA Cup, their division, and more.

You can bet on Boston in a number of ways this year. Feel free to get more granular advice from the best sports betting handicappers online, or read on as I break down some of their top betting markets for the coming season.

There are a number of ways to bet on the Boston Celtics this year, but the Celtics props shown above are some of the best. It really isn’t that ambitious to bet on Boston to repeat this season. They coasted to a title last year, and they will be out to prove it wasn’t a fluke.

My knee-jerk reaction would be to bet against them winning three years in a row, though. That still isn’t impossible, but the +1000 odds for three straight titles just isn’t tempting enough to take on that risk.

Additionally, Boston looks like a solid bet to earn the top seed in the Eastern Conference, and they’re also a pretty good bet to have the best record in the entire league. Naturally, that should have them looking like a terrific bet to win their division as well.

Of course, it can pay to be a bit more detailed. If you need more reasoning for each bet, read on.

Will The Boston Celtics Win 2 Consecutive Championships?

  • Yes +275
  • No -450

The Celtics look like a really good bet to win the NBA Finals for a second year in a row. They raced to the best record in the league last year, and then faced very little resistance en route to the title.

Once they got to the NBA Finals, it was painfully clear that they were the better team when they squared off with the Dallas Mavericks. Frankly, that was obvious no matter who they faced on their journey to a championship last year.

Due to that, it’s not a hot take to suggest they can do it all again. They could have different goals this season, whether it be by vying for a 70+ win season or simply resting their bodies to get ready for a title defense, but they are equipped to make another big run.

Why? Sheer talent, for starters. The duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown is one of the best in the league. As great as they are, they’re far from alone, as Jrue Holiday creates offense and shuts down the opposition’s top ball handler, and big man Kristaps Porzingis provides timely offense and shot-blocking.

Derrick White and Al Horford also pitch in as needed, contributing to a top-3 defense in terms of efficiency. Boston’s offense (#1 in basketball) was even better, and the two elements of this team worked in unison to dominate when it mattered most.

Barring unforeseen injuries, Boston is a great bet to once again emerge atop the rest of the league. Take the Yes option that they will win the title for a second consecutive season.

Bet: Yes +275

Will The Boston Celtics Win 3 Consecutive Championships?

  • Yes +1000
  • No (NA)

While betting on a Celtics repeat is something I am more than willing to do, going for it all with a three-peat wager feels like a mistake. The reality is you need so much to go right over the span of two full seasons, and the +1000 price tag just isn’t that alluring.

Boston has solid odds to repeat this year, but going through the entire process for a third time and coming out the other end victorious is asking a lot. More simply, nobody has won three NBA titles in a row since the Los Angeles Lakers from 2000-2002.

Winning three consecutive championships isn’t easy, and that’s before you start factoring in age, injuries, trades, and free agency. On top of all of that, the rest of the NBA will only continue to keep getting better.

The Western Conference specifically is loaded with superstars, and there are more than a few teams that are already a potentially tough out for Boston this year. You’ve got your hands full just with betting on Boston to repeat.

While this bet isn’t completely off the table at +1000, it’s one that I’d personally avoid. I don’t see the Celtics winning the 2023-24, 2024-25, and 2025-26 NBA Championships.

Will The Celtics Finish as the Top Seed in the Eastern Conference?

  • Boston Celtics -125
  • New York Knicks +475
  • Philadelphia 76ers +500
  • Milwaukee Bucks +700
  • Cleveland Cavaliers +1800

The Boston Celtics are the team to beat in the Eastern Conference. There are definitely some solid teams in the east this season, but nobody else has the combination of coaching and talent that Boston possesses.

Boston also dominated this conference last year. They went 64-18 overall, but they were 41-11 inside the conference and 15-2 in their division. This also is a team that takes care of business (37-4) at home, and there are only two legit threats inside their division.

With the division likely taken care of – more on that in a bit – the only real issue is deciding if Boston will 1. rack up enough wins to secure the top seed and 2. considering if anyone outside of their division is a serious threat.

On paper, I’d say the answer is no. That isn’t to say the other contenders in the Eastern Conference are garbage, but Boston fared extremely well against them all during the regular season last year, and also bounced them all in the playoffs.

What’s changed? Not enough to realistically bet on anyone besides Boston to secure the top seed in this conference.

Bet: Boston Celtics -125

Can The Celtics Win The Atlantic Division?

  • Boston Celtics -165
  • Philadelphia 76ers +300
  • New York Knicks +350
  • Toronto Raptors +50000
  • Brooklyn Nets +60000

Since I am taking the Celtics to repeat as NBA champions and I like them to secure the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference, I imagine you can see where I’m going when it comes to their Atlantic Division prospects.

As noted, Boston completely wiped the floor with the other teams in this conference, as they lost just twice inside the division in all of last year. I don’t know if a total steamroll like that is a guarantee again, but with two teams being bad-to-awful and the other two not truly feeling like legit threats, it feels weird to even consider fading Boston in this betting market.

Truth be told, the New York Knicks can be pesky. They gave Boston a fight in a few of their regular season meetings last year, and we didn’t get a chance to see how they’d fare in the NBA playoffs last year.

The Philadelphia 76ers might be the real team to “fear” here. However, star acquisition Paul George is already dinged up and big man Joel Embiid literally went public about the unlikelihood of him ever playing in back-to-back sets again.

The Sixers aren’t exactly locks to contender for the division anyways, but these things don’t help their odds. That, and Boston took care of them during the regular season last year, winning three of four meetings.

Both the Knicks and 76ers are solid, but they’re not quite in the class of the Celtics. Across the board, Boston is just way easier to bet on, and despite this being painfully obvious, their price in just about every market remains shockingly palatable.

Anything can go wrong in sports, but the Celtics look like the mother of all smash bets in most of their markets this year. I’d be taking them to win their division and get the #1 seed in the east with zero hesitation, while I also would go the extra mile and bet on them to once again win the NBA title.

Bet: Boston Celtics (-165)
