Caitlin Clark has put the WNBA on the map. Her first season was amazing, so much so that she claimed the WNBA Rookie of the Year award. Due to her instant success, it’s fair to wonder exactly what fans can expect for an encore when she returns for her second season as a pro.
Sadly, the 2024-25 WNBA season won’t start for some time. Luckily, you can still bet on Caitlin Clark in other ways. One way is to bet on her WNBA futures, like whether she’ll win the WNBA MVP or guide her Indiana Fever to the WNBA Finals. Another is to target Caitlin Clark prop bets that really have nothing to do with her athletic accomplishments at all.
You can bet on whatever you want, but for now I’ll focus on the Caitlin Clark props off the court.
Caitlin Clark Odds
The following Caitlin Clark prop bets can be found at any number of sports betting sites online. You can bet on whether each wager will hit by March 1st, 2025.
Caitlin Clark Prop Bet | Caitlin Clark Odds | Caitlin Clark Prediction |
---|---|---|
To Get Engaged | EVEN | Yes |
Attend the Golden Globes | +250 | No |
Break Up with Connor McCaffrey | +1200 | No |
To Leave the Indiana Fever | +1600 | No |
To Become Pregnant | +2500 | No |
As I said, these Caitlin Clark wagers don’t have much to do with her basketball career. Well, one does, as you can bet on whether or not Clark will leave the Indiana Fever before next March.
I’m a bit surprised the WNBA odds for these props aren’t a bit thicker in general. Clark is a really bad bet to play for a different team anytime soon, so only getting that prop bet at +1600 feels weak.
Of course, I’ll take a closer look at each of these Caitlin Clark prop bets. You can roll with my predictions in the table above, or read on for my analysis.
Caitlin Clark to Get Engaged
The first Caitlin Clark prop bet has the best odds and is without a doubt the most likely bet to hit by March of 2025. Clark has been in a serious relationship with fellow Iowa Hawkeyes alum, Connor McCaffrey, and the duo have been dating since April of 2023.
By the time March roles around, that will officially be a two year anniversary and could easily signal the start of an engagement. On top of the two showing plenty of affection and chemistry on their social media, they have a shared love for Iowa and all things basketball.
Clark could obviously always opt for the celebrity treatment and meet a more popular figure down the road, but she’s about as down to earth as it gets. It may just come down to McCaffrey popping the question in time for this bet to deliver.
Bettors still have a good amount of time, and remember, an engagement doesn’t mean marriage. You just need Clark to get engaged to win, and a five month window is something I’d be willing to roll the dice on.
Bet: Yes EVEN
Caitlin Clark to Attend the Golden Globes
I’m not entirely sure what the correlation is between Caitlin Clark and the Golden Globes. The awards show really deals with television and movies, so it’s fair to wonder if the sportsbooks are confusing this event with one she did attend last year – the Golden Gala fundraiser in Indiana.
That isn’t to say an appearance at a big awards show would be crazy. Clark has nothing to do with TV or cinema at the moment, but she’s a massive pop icon, regardless. She could always get a ticket for her love of entertainment, or she could be paid to show up and present an award.
Clark has numerous sponsorships – some we probably don’t even know about yet – and it’s not impossible that could lead her down the red carpet in 2025. That said, there isn’t anything concrete pointing to a “yes” for this Caitlin Clark. For that reason, I’m out.
Bet: No
Caitlin Clark to Break Up with Connor McCaffrey
I will admit I actually do like the value with this one. By the time March rolls around next year, Clark will have been dating her boyfriend for two years. Naturally, it’s fair to assume one of two things happens – someone proposes, or the relationship runs its course.
My gut says McCaffrey gets down on one knee and expedites this thing, but the value for things to go south (+1200) is pretty appealing.
Let’s be real, only 50% of marriages last, and the data for relationships in general is obviously even rockier. While their bond may be strong, Clark lives in a different world than her BF, seeing as she is a professional athlete and a massive celebrity.
Could her schedule and fame slowly chip away and whatever connection they have? It’s silly to suggest it’s not possible. While I still think they get hitched, I think hedging your bets and sprinkling some cash on this wager does make some sense.
Bet: No
Caitlin Clark to Leave the Indiana Fever
Long-term, I’d be shocked if Caitlin Clark ever leaves the Indiana Fever. She may have won an internal power struggle with her head coach getting canned after her rookie season, and all of the off-court drama dealing with sex and race would follow her no matter where she’d go.
Playing for the Indiana Fever keeps this midwest girl in a place she’s familiar with, and she’s also a big fish in a small pond. From what I can gather, that’s exactly how she prefers it, while loyalty and consistency also seem to be big deals for the star guard.
While I could be wrong and Clark could one day play elsewhere, it won’t be happening this quickly. Indiana literally made her the #1 overall pick last year, and to be frank, I doubt they’d move her even if she sat out and refused to play.
There is a lot of weird negativity around Clark’s star power, but nobody in Indiana – whether it be the fans or the organization – want her to go anywhere. Clark is probably sticking around in Indy for quite some time, if not her entire career. And she certainly isn’t leaving by 2025.
Bet: No
Caitlin Clark to Become Pregnant
You may be surprised to learn this, but female athletes do still get pregnant and they have children. It doesn’t happen at a crazy rate, of course, because there is a lot of money to lose if you sit out an entire year to start a family.
Numerous famous female athletes waited deep into their respective careers to have their first child, and some just choose to adopt, use a surrogate, or not have kids at all. The main reason is the layoff from even one child, while having a kid can also impact an athlete negatively from a physical and performance perspective.
Serena Williams was near the end of the line when she finally had a child, but no matter which way you slice it, she wasn’t remotely close to her previously dominant self when she came back.
Having a kid in just her second season would probably set Clark back quite a bit, so while she probably isn’t contractually obligated to wait, I’d be shocked if it’s on her dream board at the moment. I’d bet that the engagement and subsequent marriage to her boyfriend would come well before she attempts to start a family.
After all, Clark is still just 22 years old. She has a nice 8-year window before she really has to feel rushed into any type of family-building decision-making.
Bet: No
Caitlin Clark Predictions
Eventually we’ll have even more Caitlin Clark props to work with. Ideally, most of them will be sports related or have something to do with her potential accomplishments.
That said, you can make some money here, as Caitlin Clark is in a serious relationship and could easily end up getting engaged in the not too distant future. At this point, I find it much more likely that she gets engaged to her current boyfriend than breaks up with him.
Sadly, that’s the only bet I can currently suggest with any sort of confidence. There’s no way of knowing whether Caitlin Clark will go to the Golden Globes, and none of the other Caitlin Clark prop bets make enough sense to target.
Will she probably be pregnant at some point? Sure, but not before her second year in the WNBA. Could she play for a different WNBA team eventually? Also possible, but she’s under contract and the team has zero incentive to send her off unless she came out publicly and demanded a trade.
Ultimately, I’d target the one bet or just hold out and wait for better Caitlin Clark props to pop up. I also suggest piling up some viable sports betting handicappers for unique markets such as these. Having extra informed voices for complicated betting markets is never a bad thing.
