When a player at the tight end position is drafted fourth overall, you already know that the expectation level for his overall performance is sky high.

The Atlanta Falcons used their first round pick to land former Florida standout Kyle Pitts. Along with the proper size at his position (6-foot-6 and 245 lbs.), he earned a prospect grade of 7.19 at NFL.com. This puts him among the elite players in this year’s NFL draft class.

You can actually bet on his impact as a rookie through a pair of prop bet options. One covers Pitts’ total receiving yards in the 2021 NFL regular season. The other covers his total touchdown receptions.

Kyle Pitts: 2021 Total Receiving Yards

The OVER/UNDER on total receiving yards has been set at 775 with -120 odds for betting either side of this prop.

With Matt Ryan at quarterback, Atlanta has always been known as a passing team. Despite the dismal 4-12 record last season, Ryan was still ranked fourth in the NFL in total passing yards (4,581). He put the ball up 626 times which equates to an average of nearly 40 passes a game.

This is a major plus for betting the OVER in this prop.

Atlanta’s biggest target in the passing game is wide receiver Calvin Ridley. He caught 90 passes in 2020 for 1,374 yards. As another plus for the OVER in this prop, Hayden Hurst took the most snaps at tight end and he finished the regular season with 56 receptions for 571 yards.

He was targeted 88 times which was the third-highest total on the team.

It is easy to see Pitts adding another 200 yards plus to this total as the team’s starter in 2021. He comes with high credentials across the board. A few of his top strengths include a nightmare matchup for most undersized cornerbacks. You can add deceptive speed to his overall size advantage. Pass catching skills are also off the charts as the latest weapon in Atlanta’s proficient passing game.

Kyle Pitts: 2021 Total Touchdowns Scored

The betting odds for this prop are also set at -120 for the OVER/UNDER on six touchdown receptions.

Pitts is known for his soft hands as an excellent receiver. He is also known for his big play ability. In just eight games last season, he caught 43 passes for 770 yards to average 17.9 yards a reception. More importantly, 12 of those catches went for scores to rank third in the nation in that department.

This performance earned Pitts the John Mackey award as the top tight end in college football. He was also a finalist for the Fred Biletnikoff award as the best overall receiver.

The top bet in this player prop is the OVER as well. Pitts will be too big of a target for Ryan to ignore in the Red Zone. Last season, Hurst was second on the team in receiving touchdowns with six. Ridley led the way with nine catches for touchdowns.

If Pitts can live up to his lofty expectations, he could easily top six touchdown receptions through the first 11 or 12 weeks of the season.

Prop Bet Pick: OVER 6 Touchdowns at -120
