Last week we saw a down-on-their-luck handicapper break into the top 5, and we’ve seen a consistent finisher still getting crippled by terrible luck and the skin on his teeth.
Keep reading to see who finished first (and who could have finished first) as well as some of our picks for NBA week 6.
Al Grant With a 100% Win Rate Last Week
Al Grant, a new face on the top 5 list, comes in second with $400 in profit overall and a 4-0 win rate.
It’s good to see Grant hit a winning streak, because last week he lost three wagers in a row, and in October he hit a heart-stopping 10-loss streak.
Overall through the NBA season he’s 15-21, but recently he’s been turning around. Hopefully this stint in the top 5 renews his drive and we see him pull out of the season with a positive record.
Top 5 NBA Cappers Backtrack, But Still Maintain 70+% Win Rate
Last week, our top five cappers went 35-14, with a 71% win rate overall. That’s almost 10 points lower than the 80.9% win rate we saw in week 4.
However, the top five bettors still managed to end the week with $1,960 in profit.

Tonny Ricci’s Tough Luck Holds Out
A few weeks ago, we talked about how Tonny Ricci was 2 points away from winning a moneyline on the Pistons. That win would have given him a perfect record for the week, and boosted him up to the top seat in the leaderboard.
Well, this past week we’ve seen his tough luck strike again.
Ricci’s only lost wager last week was a totals wager on the Nets and 76ers game. He wagered over 217 at -110. The game ended at a total of 211 points, 7 points away from a win for him, and another perfect week.
Not as heartbreaking as Piston’s moneyline, but still tough. Hopefully next week Ricci will have Lady Luck on his side.
Where We’re Betting This Week
Tonight we have both Mike Lundin and Tonny Ricci betting the +12 spread on the Atlanta Hawks. While it’s a bit of a long-shot wager, I’d surmise it hits, as both Mike and Tonny are pretty good with spreads.
Then, Friday, we see 20 teams participating in the Emirates NBA Cup. It’s a big day for shopping, but a bigger day for basketball. There are plenty of great matchups here, including Pistons and the Pacers as well as the Lakers and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
