2023 NBA All-Star Game Odds and Picks

The 2023 NBA All-Star Game is on Sunday and tip off is scheduled for 6:30 PM ET.

There have been some changes to this year’s game. The two captains were selected by fan vote with LeBron James (Western Conference) and Giannis Antetokounmpo (Eastern Conference).

This is the sixth year that two captains will draft their own team from the available players.

James has been one of the captains every year since the format changed. Even more impressive is the fact that Team LeBron have gone 5-0 since the NBA All-Star Game draft format was introduced.

This year, teams will compete in three mini games for each of the first three quarters. The fourth quarter will use the “target score” format. The target is the leading team’s score plus 24 points. For example, if the West are up 120-110, the target score would be 144 points. The team that hits the target wins the game.

One of the major differences this year is that the captains will draft their team live on TV just before the game tips off. Will LeBron be able to draft another winning team this year?

2023 NBA All-Star Game Betting Lines

Here are the betting lines for the NBA All-Star Game:

Moneyline: Team Giannis (+130) vs. Team LeBron (-150)

Spread: Team Giannis +3 (-110) vs. Team LeBron -3 (-110)

Total: Over 325 Points (-110) vs. Under 325 Points (-110)

Team LeBron are small favorites and that’s because of his 5-0 record as a captain in the all-star game, but it’s tough to make a prediction on which team will win when we don’t even know the rosters yet.

2023 NBA All-Star Game Predictions

Best Bet: Under 325 Points (-110)

The NBA All-Star Game is always high-scoring and we can expect around 300 points to be scored, but scoring 326+ points might be a bit of a stretch with a fourth quarter target score.

The last three NBA All-Star Games have had less than 325 points scored.

If you’re looking to bet on the spread or moneyline, I recommend Team LeBron at -3. Team LeBron have won four of the last five NBA All-Star Games by 3+ points and he’ll want to remain undefeated.

Motivation plays a large role in which team wins the NBA All-Star Game. Most players are just here to have some fun, but a player like James wants to win even though the game doesn’t count for anything.
