I think I made a mistake by even doubting the ability of the Baltimore Ravens to run the football, although I guess you couldn’t blame some folks if they harbored some real questions.
After all, losing your entire running back rotation in training camp is kind of a tricky thing to get through. I probably should have had more faith in offensive coordinator Greg Roman, who does more with the running game than any coach in the NFL.
So they pieced something together, with the remaining healthy running back, Ty’Son Williams, who is averaging six yards a carry, along with Latavius Murray, Devonta Freeman and, we suppose, Le’Veon Bell, and of course there is Lamar Jackson, the quarterback who has topped 100 yards two years in a row.
And suddenly they are fourth in the league with 164.5 rushing yards per game.

Lamar Jackson Props Picks: Longest Pass Completion Over 36.5 Yards
MNF Props Odds: Over 36.5 Yards -110 / Under 36.5 Yards -120
We are not sure how many people are aware that part of any success Baltimore’s offense has had involves the ability of Jackson to stretch things out against defenses. In fact, he’s had 19 different pass plays of 20 yards or more. That perhaps shouldn’t be a huge surprise, considering that he leads the NFL with 11.6 Intended Air Yards per throw.
Marquise Brown, Mark Andrews and Sammy Watkins have all had receptions of better than 40 yards through the first four games.
Lamar Jackson Props Picks: Under 63.5 Rushing Yards
MNF Props Odds: Over 63.5 Yards -120 / Under 63.5 Yards -115
We move “under” on this one not necessarily because of any problems that Jackson might be having with his back, although it would not be surprising if Roman were to do some things to take some of the pressure off him running with the ball.
And Jackson does not have to run with the ball to make this offense go. We’ve already discussed his exploration down the field, as well as the support he can get from his backfield.
Latavius Murray Props Picks: To Score a Touchdown Anytime
MNF Props Odds: +120 to Score a Touchdown
Murray is starting to get the preferred playing time, even though Ty’Son Williams has put together better numbers. Of course, Murray has hung around for a long time in the NFL by figuring out a way to make himself useful. And he is a guy they look to when they get close to the end zone, as he has scored in three of the first four games.
Jonathan Taylor Props Picks: Under 56.5 Rushing Yards
MNF Props Odds: Over 56.5 Yards -115 / Under 56.5 Yards -115
Well, somewhere the effect of losing the top run-blocking lineman in the NFL has to be felt. All-Pro guard Quentin Nelson is going to be on the injured reserve list for the next few weeks with an ankle injury, and even though we’re sure Frank Reich would like to establish the run, the Colts have put the ball on the ground only 41% of the time.
Mo Alie-Cox Props Picks: To Score a Touchdown Anytime
MNF Props Odds: +550 to Score a Touchdown
Indianapolis is looking for reliable outlets when they get into red zone situations. And who knows if Alie-Cox, the second-year tight end out of Virginia Commonwealth, could be the guy Carson Wentz keeps seeking out. He has only had six receptions this season, and two of them have gone for touchdowns.
