2023 XFL Week 1 Odds and Predictions

The 2023 XFL season gets underway this weekend with two games on Saturday and two games on Sunday. We’re going to take a look at the latest XFL Week 1 odds and I’ll share my best bet for each game.

Where to Bet on the XFL

All of the games will be aired live on TV and can be streamed on ESPN+. Will Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Dany Garcia and RedBird Capital Partners turn the XFL into a successful spring football league?

Vegas Vipers vs. Arlington Renegades Picks

When: Saturday, February 18th 2023 at 3:00 PM ET

Spread: Vipers +2 (-110) vs. Renegades -2 (-110)

Total: Over 37 Points (-110) vs. Under 37 Points (-110)

You have to like Arlington in the season-opener. They have the best coaching staff, which will be led by Bob Stoops. QB Kyle Sloter and TE Sal Cannella will team up again after playing in the USFL for New Orleans in 2022.

QB Brett Hundley recently signed with Vegas and I’m interested to see if WR Martavis Bryant will have much left in the tank. However, I’ll take the team with the better coaching and chemistry in Week 1.

Best Bet: Renegades -2 (-110)

Football Betting Lines

Orlando Guardians vs. Houston Roughnecks Picks

When: Saturday, February 18th 2023 at 8:30 PM ET

Spread: Guardians +1 (-110) vs. Roughnecks -1 (-110)

Total: Over 35.5 Points (-110) vs. Under 35.5 Points (-110)

Orlando are projected to be one of the worst teams in the XFL this season. QB Paxton Lynch struggled in the USFL last year, throwing 5 TDs and 4 INTs in six games. He also doesn’t have many weapons.

Houston’s head coach is Wade Phillips and he’ll ensure the defense is ready to go for Week 1. There are questions as to who will play at QB, but it looks like Brandon Silvers will start the season.

Best Bet: Under 35.5 Points (-110)

St. Louis BattleHawks vs. San Antonio Brahmas Picks

When: Sunday, February 19th 2023 at 3:00 PM ET

Spread: BattleHawks -2.5 (-115) vs. Brahmas +2.5 (-105)

Total: Over 36.5 Points (-110) vs. Under 36.5 Points (-110)

San Antonio are an interesting team with Hines Ward as head coach. Jack Coan had a great collegiate career and will start at QB. He has lots of weapons. RB Kalen Ballage will also get a chance to shine.

The BattleHawks are led by QB A.J. McCarron. They also have weapons on offense. I expect both of these teams to be able to put up points this season and I’ll jump on this low Week 1 total.

Best Bet: Over 36.5 Points

Football Predictions

Seattle Sea Dragons vs. DC Defenders Picks

When: Sunday, February 19th 2023 at 8:00 PM ET

Spread: Sea Dragons +1.5 (-115) vs. Defenders -1.5 (-105)

Total: Over 35.5 Points (-110) vs. Under 35.5 Points (-110)

Seattle could be contenders this season. They have QB Ben DiNucci and WR Josh Gordon. Gordon has looked good at training camp and could be the best WR in the XFL this season.

DC have a deep roster and are expected to be a strong team as well, but they’re going to have a tougher time on offense in the first game of the season. I like the Sea Dragons as small underdogs.
