The Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs will play in the 2023 NFL Super Bowl.
The big game is next Sunday. We’re going to predict the winner of Super Bowl LVII. The Eagles are small favorites to win and the spread has dropped a ½ point since the 2023 Super Bowl opening lines were released.
The game total has increased one point from 49.5 to 50.5 points already.
How Did They Get Here?
Both teams finished the regular season as the #1 seed in their respective conferences. Therefore, both teams had a bye for the Wild Card Round and have only had to play two playoff games.
The Eagles have been dominant. Philly defeated the Giants (38-7) in the Divisional Round and the 49ers (31-7) in the NFC Championship Game. The Chiefs have had much closer games. Kansas City defeated the Jaguars (27-20) in the Divisional Round and the Bengals (23-20) in the AFC Championship Game.

This is going to be an intense match-up featuring two of the best teams in the NFL this season.
The Eagles have been more balanced on offense and defense, but the Chiefs have the edge on offense. Both teams are tied for first in points scored (28.7 PPG), but the Chiefs gain more yards.
The Chiefs offense averages 294.5 PYPG (1st) and 113.5 RYPG (21st). The Eagles offense averages 230.2 PYPG (12th) and 153.9 RYPG (4th). Will either defense be able to stop the opposing offense?
Philly rank #1 at defending the pass (171.0 PYPG), but they allow 119.3 RYPG (15th). KC were able to rush for 144 yards on 33 carries against the Jags, but only 42 yards on 20 carries against Cincy.
The Chiefs allow 221.0 PYPG (19th) and 107.3 RYPG (8th). The Eagles utilize three RBs and will want to establish the run game to keep Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense off the field.
One interesting battle in this game will be turnovers. The Eagles only turned it over 19 times (5th) during the regular season, while the Chiefs turned the football over 23 times (17th).
The Eagles have the better overall roster on both sides of the football. Mahomes could have a magical performance and win another Super Bowl ring, but my money will be on the Eagles.
