The Oilers Can Win If…

With a 4-2 win over the Flames, the Oilers moved to 23-12-3 this season. Edmonton covered the puck line as -1.5 goal favorites, and the total of 6 goals fell just short of the pre-game line of 6.5.

All four of Edmonton’s goals came from different players, with Zach Hyman breaking a 2-2 tie at 9:50 in the third period. The Oilers also added an empty-net goal with just 3 seconds left to seal the victory.

Edmonton’s offense fired 31 shots on goal and scored 4 times in their 4-2 win over Calgary. The Oilers got on the board early with Leon Draisaitl’s 9th goal of the season, followed by Jeff Skinner’s 3rd. Zach Hyman added his 3rd goal on a power play in the 3rd period, and Mattias Janmark sealed the win with an empty-netter, his 2nd of the year.

Draisaitl also contributed with two assists, bringing his total to 8 for the season. Zach Hyman picked up his 2nd assist on Skinner’s goal. The Oilers had 10 giveaways in the game.

Stuart Skinner made 29 saves with a 93.5% save percentage in the Oilers’ win over the Flames. Defensively, Edmonton had 25 blocks, 19 hits, and 2 takeaways. The Oilers gave up two goals, both early in the 2nd and 3rd periods.

  • Through their last three games, the Oilers have a record of 2-1. Their record vs the puck line in these matchups is less impressive at 1-2, while posting an over-under record of 1-2.
  • The Oilers have gone 7-3 over their last ten regular season games. This includes going 4-6 vs. the puck line along with an over-under mark of 5-5.

The Kraken Can Win If…

Seattle’s 2-0 loss to the Bruins dropped them to 17-20-3 this season. The Kraken were underdogs on the puck line, and the total was set at 6 goals, but the teams combined for just 2.

Both of Boston’s goals came in the first period, with the first at 16:37 and the second at 10:03. Seattle’s offense struggled, managing only 23 shots on goal and failing to score.

The Kraken were shut out in their latest game, managing 23 shots on goal but failing to find the back of the net. Seattle was held scoreless in all three periods, with 19 giveaways hampering their offensive efforts.

None of the Kraken players recorded a goal or an assist in the 2-0 loss to Boston. Seattle’s last shutout came in a 4-0 defeat to the New York Islanders on October 17.

Despite giving up two early goals in the first period, Seattle’s defense settled in, not allowing another goal for the rest of the game. Joey Daccord finished with 31 saves and a 93.9% save percentage, while the defense added 4 takeaways and 18 hits.

  • The Kraken have posted a 2-1 record in their previous three games. The team has also been excellent vs the spread, going 2-1. Their over-under record in these games was 3-0.
  • Across Seattle’s last ten regular season games, their record sits at 3-7. This includes going 4-6 vs. the puck line along with an over-under mark of 6-4.

The Lean

When making a moneyline pick, my choice is the Kraken to come out with a win against the Oilers while playing at home. Considering the moneyline odds at +137, I’m placing my bet on the Kraken to win outright.

Our projections have the Kraken pulling out a win as the underdog. But if you’re not as bullish as we are on the Kraken, we’d recommend at least getting a bet down on them to cover the puck line.

If you’re looking at the the over/under line set at 6.5 goals, our prediction is that this game will stay below that threshold, and we strongly suggest placing a bet on the under.

Leon Draisaitl and Oilers Gear Up to Outpace Kraken in High-Stakes Showdown

The NHL’s top goal-scorer and second-leading points producer, Leon Draisaitl, continues to shine—despite not always being hailed as the best player on his team.

Such is life when your teammate is Connor McDavid, Edmonton Oilers’ superstar captain and one of hockey’s greatest talents. Yet, Draisaitl keeps proving why he’s just as indispensable.

Draisaitl’s Heroics Propel Oilers Forward

On Friday night, Draisaitl scored the decisive goal with 1:35 remaining, lifting the Oilers to a 3-2 victory over the Anaheim Ducks. It marked his league-leading 28th goal and ninth game-winner of the season.

With 57 points, Draisaitl trails only Colorado’s Nathan MacKinnon (64) in the NHL scoring race. McDavid, though slightly hindered by injuries this season, isn’t far behind with 54 points.

“I take big pride in stepping up when it’s needed most,” Draisaitl said. “It’s something I value and strive for.”

Despite his game-winning efforts, Draisaitl wasn’t entirely satisfied with his performance.
“There were too many turnovers, especially from me and my line,” he admitted. “It felt like we’d gain momentum, but lose it with mistakes. You learn from games like these.”

Building Momentum: Oilers Eye Third Consecutive Win

Saturday’s game in Seattle offers Edmonton a chance to extend their winning streak to three and solidify their push up the standings.

Defenseman Darnell Nurse emphasized the team’s focus on finishing strong.
“It wasn’t perfect,” Nurse said of their win against Anaheim. “When you’ve got the lead, you’ve got to lock it down. But when we were challenged, we found a way to deliver.”

The Oilers’ ability to close games will be tested against a Kraken team known for their resilience.

Kraken’s Resilience Faces a Stiff Challenge

The Seattle Kraken, despite setbacks, have demonstrated a knack for dramatic comebacks. On Thursday, they rallied from a two-goal deficit to force overtime against the Vancouver Canucks before falling 4-3 in a shootout.

Their persistence mirrors last weekend’s historic rally in Vancouver, where they overturned a three-goal deficit in the final five minutes to clinch victory—a feat only two other teams have ever accomplished.

Forward Matty Beniers, currently riding a three-game goal streak, highlighted the Kraken’s determination.
“We fought back strong in the third,” Beniers said. “If we can avoid putting ourselves in those tough spots, I think our success rate will climb.”

Wild-Card Race Intensifies

Despite their gritty performances, the Kraken remain seven points behind the final wild-card playoff spot in the Western Conference. Every game is crucial.

“At this point, it doesn’t matter how we get there—just gotta keep collecting points,” said defenseman Brandon Montour. “We’ve dug a hole and need to win as many games as possible.”

Oilers vs. Kraken: What to Watch

Saturday’s matchup will be the first of four meetings this season between Edmonton and Seattle. With both teams looking to cement their footing in a competitive Western Conference, expect a high-intensity clash.

  • Key Players:
Draisaitl’s consistency and McDavid’s explosiveness are Edmonton’s greatest weapons. For Seattle, Beniers and defenseman Vince Dunn—who tied the Canucks game with 53 seconds remaining—will be pivotal.
  • Momentum Matters:
The Oilers are on a roll, while the Kraken’s recent stretch (2-0-1) signals a team fighting to stay alive in the playoff race.

A Defining Moment for Both Teams

For the Oilers, this game is an opportunity to solidify their dominance as a playoff contender, with Draisaitl leading the charge. For the Kraken, it’s a chance to prove they belong in the postseason conversation.

As both teams take to the ice, the stakes couldn’t be higher. One team fights to extend a winning streak; the other battles to keep its playoff hopes alive.

Will Edmonton’s dynamic duo continue their tear through the league, or can Seattle’s resilience and grit deliver another stunning comeback? Hockey fans won’t want to miss this clash of determination and talent.
