Road underdogs, especially those under a touchdown, are having great success this season. They are 30- 12 ATS and 25-17 straight up. Last week, the Bengals were a 6-point underdog to Baltimore. Cincy won big 41-17. The Colts went to San Francisco as a 3-point dog and came away with a 30-18 victory.
Which road underdogs will pull off the feat this week? Here’s a look at the top five NFL Week 8 moneyline underdog picks.
Pittsburgh Steelers at Cleveland Browns
Steelers vs. Browns Predictions
Prior to last season, Cleveland had only beaten Pittsburgh in five of 36 games. Last year, the Browns won a meaningless Week 17 game then turned around the following week and beat the Steelers in a wild card playoff game.
Now, the two rivals meet in Week 8 in Cleveland. The Browns are banged up. QB Baker Mayfield is a question mark as is RB Nick Chubb and DE Jadeveon Clowney. Cleveland is 4-3 and coming off a win last Thursday over Denver.
The Steelers are just starting to find their offense especially the running game with rookie RB Najee Harris. Pittsburgh’s defense is elite and will keep them in this game no matter who plays for Cleveland. The offense will finish the job.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New Orleans Saints
Buccaneers vs. Saints Predictions
In last year’s playoffs, the Tom Brady and the Bucs defeated New Orleans on their way to the Super Bowl. In regular season games though, the Saints have won the last five in a row. Yes, Drew Brees is gone, but Jameis Winston has done well as long as he doesn’t turn the ball over.
New Orleans hasn’t played well at home this season. Actually, they only played in the Superdome once this year and lost to the Giants. The New Orleans defense has allowed more than 90 yards rushing just once this season. The Saints will take away the Bucs running game and put an enormous amount of pressure on Brady. DE Marcus Davenport and LB Kwon Alexander are both back in the lineup for the Saints after missing time due to injury.
Brady and Bucs have played well all season. This is one where they regress a little and the Saints sneak a victory at home.

New England Patriots at Los Angeles Chargers
Patriots vs. Chargers Predictions
Yes, the Chargers are competing for the AFC West crown and they are coming off a bye week, but they have some issues. Run defense is one of them. LA ranks dead last in the league in run defense and Patriots head coach Bill Belichick will find a way to exploit that.
Mac Jones is improving every week and one should not forget that the Patriots could easily be 5-2 or even 6-1. They lost to Miami in Week 1 courtesy of a late fumble. New England nearly beat Tampa Bay and lost to the Cowboys in overtime. Remember, those two teams are 11-2 overall.
As an underdog, Belichick is 28-14-2 ATS and 23-21 straight up. He will find a way to keep this game close and the Patriots will pull the upset. Don’t forget, road underdogs are 25-17 on the moneyline this season.
