We have a feast of Friday-night NBA action to get our teeth into this week, with no fewer than ten games on the schedule. You will be pleased to learn that I have trawled the odds to find the best NBA player props for today’s match-ups.
Here are my top five NBA picks for Friday, January 13th.
Jonas Valanciunas – Over 10.5 Rebounds (-110)
Pelicans vs. Pistons Predictions
The Detroit Pistons find themselves second from the bottom in the Eastern Conference with a record of 12-33. Over in the Western Conference, the New Orleans Pelicans occupy third place with a record of 25-17.
Jonas Valanciunas has played a key role in New Orleans’ success this season, averaging 9.5 rebounds per game. Having notched 10+ rebounds in five of the past six games, Valanciunas looks set to enjoy even more success against the struggling Pistons.
Jalen Brunson – Over 6.5 Assists (+110)
Knicks vs. Wizards Predictions
Jalen Brunson has been racking up assists for fun recently. Across his previous eight appearances, the New York Knicks guard has registered a whopping 60 assists – notching 12 against the Toronto Raptors and 11 against the Philadelphia 76ers.
On Friday, the Knicks face the Washington Wizards, who sit fourth from the bottom in the East after losing three of their last four games. The Knicks have won five of their previous six outings, so I’m backing Brunson and co. to shine at Capital One Arena.
Tre Jones – Over 1.5 Steals (+115)
Warriors vs. Spurs Predictions
The San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors have both lost their last three games. Although the Warriors sit six places above the Spurs in the Western Conference, both teams will be eager to avoid another defeat on Friday.
Last time out, San Antonio’s Tre Jones achieved three steals against the Memphis Grizzlies. Having accumulated 14 steals across the past ten games, Jones looks like a great bet to record over 1.5 steals against the Warriors.
Lauri Markkanen – Over 26.5 Points (-115)
Not only has Lauri Markkanen netted 21+ points in 13 of the last 14 games, but he has also netted 25+ points in eight of the previous nine. That tells you everything you need to know about the form of the Utah Jazz forward.
Markkanen has posted some monster scores in recent games, including last week’s 49-point haul against the Houston Rockets. The Finnish superstar is one of the NBA’s most prolific players at the moment, so I’m backing him to grab over 26.5 points against the Orlando Magic on Friday.
De’Aaron Fox – Over 24.5 Points (-115)
The Sacramento Kings will be confident of extending their winning streak to three games when they host the Houston Rockets, who have lost each of their last eight encounters. Indeed, the Rockets find themselves rock bottom in West with a record of 10-31.
De’Aaron Fox has been pivotal to Sacramento’s playoff push this season, averaging 23.8 points per game in 2022-23. Fox has notched 24+ points in eight of his previous ten outings, meaning he shouldn’t struggle to record over 24.5 points against lowly Houston.
