Lakers Riding High
The Lakers opened their East Coast road trip Monday with a 112-107 win over the Charlotte Hornets. Anthony Davis led the charge with an incredible 42 points and 23 rebounds, his fifth career 40-20 performance, while LeBron James added 22 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds.
“AD just carried us all night,” Lakers coach JJ Redick said. “His pursuit of the basketball on the offensive glass was just awesome.”
Los Angeles is 6-1 in its last seven games, reaching eight games over .500 for the first time this season despite injuries to Rui Hachimura (calf) and Gabe Vincent (knee). The Lakers’ defense, fueled by Jarred Vanderbilt, has been a cornerstone of their recent success.
76ers Battle Injuries
Philadelphia has its own challenges, winning two straight after a dismal 2-10 start to 2025. Tyrese Maxey delivered 31 points and nine assists in a 109-97 victory over the Bulls, while Kelly Oubre Jr. contributed 22 points and 12 rebounds.
