Grammy Awards Predictions
Check out our predictions for the 67th Grammy Awards:
Album of the Year
Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft leads the race for Album of the Year with odds of -110. Her innovative sound and lyrical vulnerability have garnered widespread acclaim, making her a strong contender to take home this award. Eilish has won her fair share of Grammys since bursting onto the scene less than a decade ago. The 23-year-old has already won over 200 individual awards, including 9 Grammys.
While she’s been a mainstay at musical award shows since launching her career, it’s still a bit surprising to see Eilish with better odds than Taylor Swift. Swift’s latest release – The Tortured Poets Department – checks in at +250 to win this award, while Charli XCX (Brat) comes in at +275.
I suppose there’s a reason Eilish is the favorite, but I’ll be glad to take any chance I can get to bet on Swift, especially if doing so offers more profit potential. Give me Taylor Swift to take home Album of the Year at the advantageous +250 odds.
Bet: Taylor Swift - The Tortured Poets Department (+250)
Best Rock Album
Green Day’s Saviors is the overwhelming favorite with odds of -300. Yes, Green Day is actually favored to win a Grammy in the year of our lord 2025. Did the alt-rock veterans actually put out the best rock album of 2024? Of course not. They’re here because they’re apparently popular, even if their best days as a band are distant specks in the rearview mirror.
So, if Green Day doesn’t win, who else could? Fontaines DC burst onto the scene with their smash-hit record Romance last year, which featured the chart-topping single Starburster. The Rolling Stones – yes, the honest-to-god Rolling Stones – are next up at +650 with Diamonds, while Jack White (+800), Pearl Jam (+1200), and Idles (+1400) also earned nominations.
As is the case with Album of the Year, I’m inclined to bet on the underdog here. Green Day are no strangers to the Grammys stage, but I like Fontaines DC as a slight underdog. Romance has a legit case as the best rock album any band put out in ’24, and I’ll take the extra value supplied by the +350 odds.
Bet: Fontaines DC - Romance (+350)
Best New Artist
Best New Artist is typically one of the most competitive Grammy categories. Some of those who have won it in recent years include Olivia Rodrigo, Megan Thee Stallion, Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, and Adele. If you’re lucky enough to win this award, there’s a pretty good chance it’ll vault you to new heights when it comes to popularity.
Chappell Roan is a heavy favorite to win this one at -350. Sabrina Carpenter (+200) had a terrific 2024, and she’d probably be a favorite in just about any other year. Doechii (+800), Shaboozey (+1400), Raye (+1600), and Benson Boone (+2500) all earned nominations, as well.
As the odds indicate, this will come down to Roan or Carpenter. I wouldn’t fault you one bit if you decided to take a shot on Carpenter’s +200 odds, but this is clearly Roan’s to lose. You’re not getting great bang for your buck at -350, but it’s hard to imagine anybody else claiming the trophy.
Bet: Chappell Roan (-350)
Record of the Year
Sabrina Carpenter may not win Best New Artist, but she’s favored to win Record of the Year. Her mega-hit, Espresso, leads the pack with odds of -250. This was one of the catchiest songs to have been released in quite some time, and there’s a pretty good chance it’s now stuck in your head by virtue of this article. You’re welcome.
While Billie Eilish (Birds Of A Feather, +350) and Kendrick Lamar (Not Like Us, +375) could challenge her, Carpenter’s momentum heading into the Grammys solidifies her position as the frontrunner. The Beatles, Chappell Roan, and Taylor Swift all earned nominations here, as well.
Bet: Sabrina Carpenter – Espresso (-250)
Song of the Year
What’s the difference between Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year? Good question. You’ve probably wondered this before. I know I have. Are you too lazy to look it up? I know I am.
Well, I finally did it. Record of the Year, as the name implies, recognizes the recording of a song. Song of the Year, conversely, is awarded to the song with the best composition. Got it? Good.
Billie Eilish’s Birds Of A Feather is the heavy favorite with odds of -200. The song’s introspective lyrics and haunting melody have captured the hearts of listeners worldwide. I have no qualms with this, as the song is a legit banger.
Kendrick Lamar’s Not Like Us (+400) and Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars’ Die With A Smile (+520) are also contenders, while Chappell Roan, Beyonce, and Sabrina Carpenter were nominated in this category, too.
Billie Eilish can’t go home empty-handed right? Let’s give her Song of the Year.
Bet: Billie Eilish – Birds Of A Feather (-200)
