Clemson Aims for Historic ACC Streak Against Undermanned Georgia Tech
Tigers on the Brink of History
Despite winning six straight and boasting an 18-4 record (10-1 ACC), Clemson remains just outside the AP Top 25, falling just short of a ranking in Monday’s poll.
A win Tuesday against Georgia Tech (10-12, 4-7 ACC) would tie a school record for consecutive ACC victories, a feat last achieved in 1966-67 and matched in 2022-23.
“It’s great, but there’s still nine games left,” Clemson coach Brad Brownell said. “It doesn’t mean a whole lot right now other than we have important games ahead. Because you’ve played well, the games ahead give you a chance to do something special.”
Clemson continues to dominate in conference play, with four consecutive road wins, including a 68-58 victory over NC State on Saturday.
Chase Hunter Leading Clemson’s Charge
The Tigers’ offense is powered by senior guard Chase Hunter, who dropped 20 points against NC State and is averaging 17.2 PPG this season. He also leads the ACC in 3-point shooting at 44.8%.
“His job is to score the basketball for us and make good decisions,” Brownell said. “His versatility with Jaeden Zackery makes those two guys one of the better backcourts in our league.”

The Yellow Jackets pulled off a major upset on Saturday, taking down then-No. 21 Louisville 77-70. However, Georgia Tech played with only six available players due to ongoing injuries.

The Jackets are likely to remain without Luke O’Brien, Kowacie Reeves, and Jaeden Mustaf, leaving them short-handed once again against Clemson.
