Road-Dominant Celtics Face New-Look Heat in Miami
The Boston Celtics, the NBA’s best road team, continue their five-game road winning streak as they visit the Miami Heat on Monday night. While Boston looks to extend its dominance, Miami introduces a revamped roster following the blockbuster Jimmy Butler trade.
Boston’s Road Strength on Full Display
The Celtics (21-6 on the road) have handled some of the league’s top teams in their recent five-game road run, securing victories over Dallas, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Cleveland, and New York.
On Saturday, Boston dominated the Knicks 131-104, despite missing Kristaps Porzingis (illness) and Jrue Holiday (shoulder injury).
- Jayson Tatum led with 40 points
- Luke Kornet stepped up with 14 points, 12 rebounds
- Payton Pritchard shined again with 25 points
- Neemias Queta added 11 points, 8 rebounds
With multiple key players out, Boston’s depth proved crucial.
Pritchard, a Sixth Man of the Year candidate, has back-to-back 20+ point performances, building on his 21-point effort against Dallas last Thursday.
“When guys are out, we need everybody to step up, and (Pritchard has) done an unbelievable job,” Tatum said.

Miami’s Fresh Start Without Jimmy Butler
Monday’s game marks the second matchup between these teams this season, with Boston winning the first meeting 108-89 on Dec. 2. But this time, Miami presents a completely different roster after trading Jimmy Butler to Golden State last week.
The five-team trade brought in Andrew Wiggins, Davion Mitchell, and Kyle Anderson, all of whom practiced for the first time Sunday and are expected to debut Monday.
Miami’s New Trio:
- Andrew Wiggins: Averaging 17.6 points, 4.6 rebounds this season
- Davion Mitchell: Defensive specialist, 6.3 PPG with Toronto
- Kyle Anderson: Versatile veteran, 5.3 PPG this season
Wiggins, a former No. 1 overall pick, expressed excitement for his fresh start.
“It’s time for a new chapter. It’s hard, but that’s the NBA,” Wiggins said. “I think we can do something special here. Great squad, great coaching staff, amazing fans.”
What’s at Stake?
With Boston rolling and Miami adjusting, Monday’s game is a crucial test for both squads.
- Can Tatum and the Celtics maintain their road dominance?
- Will Wiggins, Mitchell, and Anderson make an immediate impact for Miami?
