We’re calling a win for the Bulldogs, with a final score of 77-69, and we’re taking them to cover the spread. Our recommendation is to bet on the Bulldogs at -3.5.

Right now, the over/under line for the game is sitting at 142.5 and given that our model is projecting 146 points between the teams, we like the over.

Butler Bids to Build Up Steam in Rematch vs. Georgetown

Butler looks to build on recent momentum as it hosts Georgetown on Saturday in a Big East rematch in Indianapolis.

The Bulldogs (11-13, 4-9 Big East) have shown signs of life after a rough stretch, following a dominant 30-point win at Seton Hall with a thrilling 82-81 victory over Providence last weekend.

Butler Finding Its Footing

For a team that has struggled to close out games, the Bulldogs showed resilience in their win over Providence.

“Two months ago, that (Providence making 16 of 32 threes) could have demoralized us,” Butler coach Thad Matta said. “I thought we showed resilience and some toughness down the stretch when we had to.”

Jahmyl Telfort leads Butler with 16.0 points and 3.5 assists per game, while Andre Screen adds 6.1 rebounds per contest.

Hoyas

Butler is also dealing with some roster changes, as Augusto Cassia has left the program after being cleared from a knee ligament injury suffered in December.

Georgetown Turning Things Around

After dropping six of seven games, Georgetown (15-9, 6-7) is starting to gain traction with two wins in its last three—including a 60-46 defensive stifling of Seton Hall last weekend.

“The last time we had a week off was before Christmas,” Hoyas coach Ed Cooley said. “We need it desperately right now, get a couple days off with their bodies.”

The Hoyas are led by Micah Peavy, who averages 15.2 points and 2.3 steals per game. Thomas Sorber dominates inside with 8.7 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per contest.

Who Has the Edge?

Georgetown won the first meeting 78-72 on Feb. 3, but Butler has been playing its best basketball of the season.

With the Bulldogs gaining confidence at home and the Hoyas fresh from a break, Saturday’s showdown could be a hard-fought battle.
