Four Great Prop Bets for Monday Night Football Week 8

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be traveling to MetLife Stadium for a primetime matchup with the New York Giants on Monday night. These two teams have completely opposite records.

The Buccaneers are in first place in the NFC South at 5-2. The Giants, on the other hand, are in last place in the NFC East at 1-6.

Prop bets make wagering more fun by focusing on a specific aspect of the game. They’re also a great way to give yourself a huge payout. Here are four great props to wager on Monday night.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New York Giants Predictions

Margin of Victory Prop: Tampa Bay to Win By 19-24 Points (+550)

Margin of victory is always a tough prop to bet on because of the unlimited options. The higher the margin, the lower the odds of success. It’s tough to win by 20 points in the NFL, but if anyone is capable, it’s the Buccaneers over the Giants.

In the Buccaneers’ past four victories, their average winning margin has been 19.5 points. They beat the Packers by 28 points, so this team has the ability to dominate top teams in the league. As we all know, the Giants are not a top NFL franchise.

In this game, the Buccaneers are favored by 10.5 points. With the way the offense and defense have played of late, I think this is a fairly low spread.

With +550 odds, you’d win $55 on a $10 bet for the prop. For these reasons, I believe 19-24 is the correct winning margin for the Buccaneers on Monday night.

Double Result Prop: Tampa Bay/Tampa Bay (-210)

The Giants have the ability to play solid football. They’ve shown this in a few close games against good teams like the Steelers, Bears, and Rams. Still, Tampa Bay are a better team than these three franchises in my mind.

Analysts have called 2020 a Super Bowl-or-bust year for the Buccaneers. Tom Brady is playing better than he was in New England, and Rob Gronkowski is starting to contribute. In the Buccaneers five wins this season, they’ve had a halftime lead four times.

The Buccaneers know how to win. They start strong and finish strong. The Giants don’t give me any reason to believe that Monday will be any different.

Total Field Goals in the Second Half Prop: Over 1.5 (+108)

These are the props that I love to bet. They’re high-risk, but can result in a solid payout. I love over 1.5 field goals in the second half at +108.

The Giants score 17 points per game. Statistically, they have the worst offense in the league on any given week, but their kicking game is superior.

Giants kicker Graham Gano is fifth in the league in field goals. He’s getting opportunities and he’s capitalizing. He’s 15-of-16 on the year, so he doesn’t really miss.

Tampa Bay’s defense is a top five unit, so it’ll be tough for the Giants to find the endzone. I think Gano will have a big night.

Ryan Succop of the Buccaneers doesn’t get as many chances, but he’s still very accurate. He’s 11-of-13 on the season and one of those misses came from beyond 50 yards. Expect both specialists to shine on prime time.

To Score First and Win Prop: Tampa Bay (-132)

Like many things in this game, these two offenses don’t statistically compare. If you factor in the talent of the Buccaneers defense, I don’t think the Giants offense will be very successful. The Giants don’t have an awful defense, but Brady has picked better units apart this year.

I’m confident the Buccaneers will win, and I believe they’ll strike first on Monday night. The Buccaneers’ drive success rate (DSR) is .743. The Giants DSR is .690.

This doesn’t seem like a huge difference, but it’s massive for this analytic. The Buccaneers will score first and get the win in a big outing for Brady on ESPN.
