The 2021-22 NHL season grinds on and heads into its final two weeks. A number of teams have clinched playoff spots and others have been eliminated from postseason play.
The Florida Panthers are 9-1 in their last ten games and are challenging Colorado for the President’s Cup. Both teams have 110 points. Florida has nine games left and the Avalanche have ten.
It’s a light schedule tonight in the NHL with just three games. Seattle-Winnipeg was postponed due to a huge winter storm in southern Manitoba.
There is still enough action on the ice tonight. Here are the NHL best bets for Wednesday, April 13th 2022.
Montreal Canadiens vs. Columbus Blue Jackets
Canadiens vs. Blue Jackets Picks
Pick: OVER 6.5
There’s a reason why this total is 6.5. Both teams have been trending Over all season long. The Canadiens have a 41-30-2 O/U record this season. Columbus’s O/U mark is 45-23-5. At home, the Blue Jackets have seen the total go Over in 24 of 37 games.
Four of the last six games against the Habs have gone Over and Montreal has seen the Over cash in 13 of its last 20 games. The combined score in four of the last six games in the series has been 7 or more.
Both teams give up a ton of goals. In its last seven games, Montreal has allowed 4, 3, 4, 6, 4, 4, and 7 goals. Columbus has given up four or more goals in seven of its last ten games.
NY Rangers vs. Philadelphia Flyers
Pick: RANGERS -200
New York is 7-3 SU in its last 10 games. The Flyers are having some issues. They are 2-7 SU in their last nine games. In those seven losses, Philadelphia has allowed a total of 39 goals.
The Rangers are no offensive powerhouse but in winning three of their last four games the Rangers won all three by multiple goals.
Both teams played just last night. Philadelphia gave up nine goals in a loss to Washington. The Flyers have nothing to play for while the Rangers have clinched a spot in the playoffs. They will warm up for the postseason with a win tonight.
Los Angeles Kings vs. Colorado Avalanche
Pick: AVALANCHE -150
The Kings beat Chicago 5-2 last night and now have to play again on no rest against the best team in the Western Conference. Colorado may be the best team in the NHL and has been the Stanley Cup favorite most of the season.
Plus, the Avs have had four days off. Rest is a huge factor in the NHL; so is momentum. Colorado has won six straight.
The Avalanche score the third-most goals per game in the NHL. They also allow the seventh-fewest. They are the most complete team in hockey and they will take care of business tonight.
