Game 6 will take place tonight in three different NHL playoff series. Pittsburgh, Florida, and Calgary all have the chance to advance in the Stanley Cup playoffs with victories tonight.
There have been some outstanding performances thus far in the postseason. Edmonton’s Connor McDavid led the NHL in points (123) during the regular season. He’s doing the same in the postseason with 12 so far.
McDavid’s teammate, Evander Kane, is tied with two others (Jake Guentzel of Pittsburgh and Minnesota’s Kirill Kaprizov) for the postseason lead with seven goals.
More great performances are likely tonight. Who will it be? Here are the top NHL player props picks for Friday, May 13th 2022.
Ryan Strome Over 0.5 Assists
The Rangers line of Artemi Panarin, Andrew Copp, and Strome has been New York’s most productive in its series with the Pittsburgh Penguins. That will not change tonight.
In Game 5, Strome assisted on one of the Rangers five goals in a 5-3 win over the Penguins to stave off elimination. Copp and Panarin each had an assist as well. Game 6 should be no different as the Rangers once again have their backs against the wall.
In his last five games, Strome now has three assists and one goal. Plus, Strome plays on the Rangers top power play unit and New York ranks fourth in power play percentage this season.
Carter Verhaeghe Anytime Goal Scorer
The Florida Panthers can close out their series with Washington with a win tonight. The Panthers won Games 4 and 5 thanks, in large part, to the play of Verhaeghe.
He scored the game-winning goal in overtime in Game 4. Verhaeghe netted two goals in Game 4. He then came back and scored two more in Game 5’s victory. Verhaeghe also had three assists in Game 5 for a total of five points.
The Panthers forward has scored in each of the three wins for Florida. He has five goals and five assists thus far. The Panthers are averaging 3.2 goals per game in this series and the price – +260 – is worth it on this one. Back Verhaeghe to stay hot and score.
Tyler Toffoli Over 2.5 Shots on Goal
Toffoli hasn’t really been all that effective in Calgary’s series against Dallas. The veteran winger has just a single assist in the five games played in this series so far.
Calgary can close out the series with a win in Dallas tonight. The one thing that Toffoli has been able to do is get his shots on goal. He is averaging 3.0 shots per game in the series.
Toffoli plays on a line with Andrew Mangiapane and Mikael Backlund. Backlund also averages 3.0 shots per game. With the chance to advance tonight, Calgary will likely put up at least 30 shots as it has done in each of the last three games of the series. Toffoli will get his three.
