The NBA Playoffs continue Monday with two series standing at 2-1 at the expense of the underdogs.
The storylines will revolve around the trailing teams’ quests to knot up their series at 2-2. The favorites will be looking to take a 3-1 advantage. The individual players on the court ultimately determine the final score.
With that in mind, here are the best player props to bet on Monday, May 9.
Giannis Antetokoumpo Over 30.5 Points
Giannis is averaging 31.3 points per game in the ongoing series with the Boston Celtics. Though he has only gone over 30.5 points one time. However, he is primed to explode in Game Four once again for a variety of reasons.
First and foremost, the Greek freak’s last time on the court ended with 42 points. He has also increased his shot makes, attempts, and field goal percentage in every game this series. This shows that he is adapting to Boston’s fairly immaculate defense.
The two-time MVP also has a recent history of stepping up in big playoff moments.
Most notably closing out the NBA Finals with 50 points and 17 rebounds. Giannis will not disappoint Monday night.
Al Horford Over 1.5 Threes
Horford made four threes in two of the three games in his series against the Milwaukee Bucks. The fact that his line is set at 1.5 is fairly insulting.
Milwaukee baits teams into taking lots of threes, even if they are uncontested. Horford has been a major recipient of the open looks. The former third-overall draft pick is averaging seven attempts from beyond the arc per game. Asking him to make 28.6% of his trifectas should not trouble any realistic bettor.
Steph Curry Under 27.5 Points
Grizzlies vs. Warriors Predictions
The Golden State Warriors should be able to secure a relatively easy win against the Memphis Grizzlies in Game Four. This will be a game in which star Ja Morant is unlikely to play. Especially coming off of a 30-point blowout in Game Three.
Because of the expected lopsidedness, Curry figures to be pulled from the game frequently and ultimately sit in longer stretches of the fourth quarter. This will reduce his chance to hit the over. He has also scored more than 27.5 points one time in this series.
Draymond Green Over 7.5 Assists
Green is on a historic pace in terms of assists per 100 possessions. Without Morant to contest the Warriors’ scoring, this will allow them to gather momentum. Bettors should expect the Warriors’ point forward to be pulling the strings all night.
Golden State Warriors 1st Half Spread -5.5
This is not quite a player prop, but a team prop. Not only should the Warriors have no trouble getting past the Morant-less Grizzlies. But they also have the ability to shoot teams into submission quickly. Asking them to cover a fairly small spread is not as big of a deal as it would be for teams that rely more heavily on two-point baskets.
Watch for the Warriors’ threes to keep falling, just like they were in Game Three. Also watch for them to have a double-digit advantage at the intermission.
