UFC Vegas 58 Odds, Picks and Preview

The action in the octagon will be back on the big screen this weekend during UFC Fight Night, headlined by a showdown between Rafael dos Anjos and Rafael Fiziev.

When: Saturday, July 9th 2022 at 9:00 p.m. ET

Where: UFC Apex, Las Vegas, Nevada

Watch: ESPN and ESPN+

Cynthia Calvillo vs. Nina Nunes Prediction

This fight between two experienced fighters will allow each to get their career back on a positive trajectory– Calvillo enjoyed a victory in her UFC debut in 2020 but is on a three-fight skid since, including what was essentially a white flag concession in her most recent outing, while Nunes will be back in action for the first time since mid-2021 after giving birth to her daughter.

Best Bet: Nina Nunes (+130)

Michael Johnson vs. Jamie Mullarkey Prediction

A pair of veteran lightweights in contrasting runs of form will square off in this interesting battle. Johnson managed to snuff a four-fight skid with a second-round result earlier in the year, while Mullarkey was defeated early in 2022 after enjoying consecutive victories.

Johnson is the less disciplined of the two but also can make his opponents suffer with his willingness to take risks.

Best Bet: Jamie Mullarkey (-265)

Jared Vanderaa vs. Chase Sherman Prediction

This could easily become the most explosive outing of the evening, as Vanderaa and Sherman are both strong-armed heavyweights desperate to get a win.

Each fighter has been in losing form as of late but has the power to detonate at the quickest of moments, and with each being so eager to get back on the right track, they should be willing to take risks and hunt for big shots.

Best Bet: Chase Sherman (+152)

Douglas Silva vs. Said Nurmagomedov Prediction

This bantamweight division battle pits two fighters who impressed early in 2022 against one another; the 37-year-old Silva is 6-4 in the UFC and has only fallen to legit contenders, while Nurmagomedov has not fought in over a year but made quick work of his last opponent and is 15-2 in his fighting career.

Best Bet: Said Nurmagomedov (-290)

Caio Borralho vs. Armen Petrosyan Prediction

This pair of fighters are graduates from Dana White’s Contender Series and are looking to solidify their standing in the division.

Borralho had won two straight fights and was en route to a third before an illegal strike with his knee prematurely ended his last fight, while Petrosyan has won three straight and has a career record of 7-1 in mixed martial arts.

Best Bet: Caio Borralho (-225)

Rafael dos Anjos vs. Rafael Fiziev Prediction

A fight that was supposed to take place in February will finally happen after Fiziev was forced out, and dos Anjos took a replacement fight.

The 37-year-old acquitted himself well in the second fight since his return to the octagon, building momentum ahead of his lightweight bout with the 11-1 and rapidly ascending Fiziev. It is experience versus youthful energy and spirit here, with the latter seeming destined to one day contend for the title.

Best Bet: Rafael Fiziev (-235)
