The Georgia Bulldogs enter the 2022 college football season as the defending champions after one of the best seasons in school history. Georgia was not the SEC champion a season ago, but they got revenge over Alabama in the College Football Playoff championship game.
The Bulldogs had one of the most dominant defenses of all time a season ago, but most of that talent moved on to the NFL. This version of the Georgia team is going to look a bit different, but they are still loaded with talent.
If you are looking to make a bet on the regular-season win total for the Georgia Bulldogs in 2022, then that number is set at 10.5 wins. The over 10.5 wins has odds set at -205, while taking the under has odds set at +165.
Based on the odds, if Georgia is unable to get 11 wins this season, then it would be a pretty big disappointment. The Bulldogs are still in the toughest conference in college football, but they have another loaded recruiting class coming in.
Stetson Bennett will be back as quarterback for his sixth season at Georgia, and he shouldn’t have to worry about any QB competition this year. Georgia also lost two terrific running backs, but this is a program that always seems to have talent at that position.
The defense led the way a season ago, and that unit will be counted on to provide another huge lift this season. Don’t expect that defense to be as dominant, but still good enough to shut down most teams.
No Competition in SEC East
It’s always important to look at the season schedule when making a bet on win totals, and the Georgia Bulldogs might be favored in every single regular-season game. Georgia is a clear betting favorite to win the SEC East, but that doesn’t mean it will come easy.
The 2022 season is going to start in Atlanta as the Bulldogs will play the Oregon Ducks. Even though this isn’t a true home game, Georgia will have a pretty big home-field advantage in this matchup.
Georgia will play Florida and Tennessee in back-to-back weeks later in the season, and those will be two of the toughest games. A road game at the University of Kentucky on November 19 might be a game where Georgia is a slight underdog or even a small favorite.

Even though the payout isn’t that great for betting on the Bulldogs to have over 10.5 wins this season, that’s really the only option. If you could find a sportsbook that offers odds for 11 wins, then you might still want to take the over because Georgia is good enough to win that many games.
There might be some growing pains early in the year for Georgia, but it’s simply hard to ignore all of the talent. Georgia is once again one of the top picks to win the College Football Playoff, and they will have little trouble in the SEC East.
