On Saturday, April 26, one of boxing’s most dramatic rivalries takes center stage as Chris Eubank Jr. (34-3, 25 KOs) battles Conor Benn (23-0, 14 KOs) live on DAZN from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, UK.
Not only is this a bitter rivalry due to the two fighters’ war of words over the years, and heated altercations which we’ll discuss below, but this is also a second-generation feud as the fathers of both competitors also fought against each other in the early 1990s.
Chris Eubank Sr. and Nigel Benn fought twice in the early 90s, establishing a nasty rivalry with each other inside and outside of the ring. Eubank Sr. won the first fight (1990) via 9th round TKO. Their highly-anticipated rematch (1993) ended in a draw. Unfortunately, there was no trilogy bout.
The battles between Eubank Sr. and the elder Benn were so intense that it’s widely considered to be one of the top rivalries in British Boxing history. And, as we can see from the sons, this blood feud between the Eubanks and the Benns is not over yet. In fact, pundits are tabbing this weekend’s fight as one of the biggest in the history of UK boxing.
The undercard features four bouts. However, the main event of the night is expected to begin around 10pm local time, which is around 5pm ET. The ring-walk time should take place a few minutes prior.

The Cancelled First Fight Between Eubank Jr. and Benn
Eubank Jr. and Benn were supposed to meet on October 8, 2022, at The O2 Arena in London. However, that bout was cancelled after Benn failed two voluntary drug tests. He tested positive for clomifene. This led to Benn losing his license and being suspended.
In July 2023, Benn was given a provisional license and allowed to fight again. Eventually, he was cleared for a full return without any provisions.
Later on, it was claimed that Benn’s failed tests were due to a high consumption of eggs. The WBC was satisfied with this explanation and the sport was able to move on as if this was a plausible excuse. Of course, that irrigated Eubank Jr. and other Benn detractors. It also led to the infamous egg slap.
The Egg Slap Heard Around The World
At a Manchester press conference in February, the two men got into a physical altercation that led to a chaotic scene where a few notable things occurred.
First, Eubank Jr. slapped Benn with an egg during the face off. Second, Nigel Benn appeared to grab Eubank Jr. by the throw during the fracas.
The egg slap was planned ahead of time as Eubank Jr. was still disgusted with Benn’s excuse for failing drug tests. Eubank Jr. made the following comments about this egg slap:
“I bought the cheapest, oldest, crustiest eggs I could find from the worst store I could find. That’s what this kid deserves — the worst of the worst. What I was doing, it was planned, it was anticipated. It was an egg of justice, you know? It was a symbol. It wasn’t about attacking him or hurting him or slapping him; it was about making an example. I had to shine a light on the fact that he was a cheat.”
Obviously, this egg slap added another layer of hatred to an already combustible rivalry between the two families. Eubank Jr. would end up getting fined $130,000 for this altercation.

Chris Eubank Jr. comes into this weekend’s clash with a 4-1 record over his last five bouts. He last competed in October 2024, where he beat Kamil Szeremeta via 7th round TKO. Prior to that bout, he had two clashes with Liam Smith.
Their first bout was in January 2023, where Smith won via 4th round TKO. They rematched in September 2023, and Eubank Jr. won via 10th round TKO. Liam Smith is fighting on the undercard of this weekend’s clash.
Before the two Smith bouts, Eubank Jr. had won six fights in a row, from September 2018 through February 2022.
25 of his 34 pro wins have come via KO. He’s also been stopped via KO once in his career.
Chris Eubank Jr. Odds
Eubank Jr. is the betting favorite for this fight with odds ranging from -165 to -185. He opened as a -125 favorite. Eubank Jr. was a massive favorite (-3000) against Szeremeta in his last bout. Prior to that, he was a +140 underdog versus Liam Smith in their rematch which took place in Sep. 2023.
According to the limited betting data we have on Eubank’s fights, that’s the only time where he was listed as the betting underdog.
Conor Benn Recent Fights
Conor Benn fought three times in 2021, winning two via TKO/KO (Vargas and Algieri) and one via unanimous decision (Granados). He then competed in April 2022, where he beat Chris van Heerden via 2nd round TKO. It was the third TKO/KO win in his last four fights and it put Benn on a collision course with Eubank Jr. for October of that year.
As mentioned above, their bout ended up being cancelled due to Benn’s failed drug tests. He returned to the ring in September 2023, and beat Rodolfo Orozco via unanimous decision. Five months later, he beat and undefeated Peter Dobson in Las Vegas, NV, via unanimous decision. That was his most recent bout.
Benn made the following statements about the upcoming fight:
“I’m coming to a fight, it’s always personal, it’s not just Chris. Every single one of my fights has been personal. If you’re trying to take food off my table and out of my kid’s mouth, it’s personal. It’s never just business with me, it’s always personal, I’ve always got a chip on my shoulder about it, so come Saturday night, forget the egg slap, forget the names, forget the calling me this, it makes no difference, there ain’t no aggression, I’m coming in there to do a job and I’m coming in there to wipe him out.”
Conor Benn Odds
Cono Benn opened as a +104 underdog versus Eubank Jr., and currently sits at a range of +135 to +150 odds. In Benn’s volume of betting data, this is the only time that he has ever been listed as the underdog.
In his last five bouts, which were all victories, Benn was listed as a favorite with odds ranging from -700 to -4500. His most recent bout took place in February 2024, where he was a -1200 to -2200 favorite over Peter Dobson.
Chris Eubank Jr. vs Conor Benn Predictions
I wish these two men were closer in size and weight as it would make the bout even more competitive in my mind. They’re competing at 160 pounds with a 10-pound rehydration clause.
Eubank Jr. competes up into the super-middleweight division, while Benn is a natural welterweight. He’s coming up two weight classes for this weekend’s fight.
Additionally, Eubank Jr. is three inches taller than Benn and has over four inches in reach advantage. Furthermore, Eubank Jr. has the more impressive resume and body of work inside the ring than Benn does.
The combination of experience and size advantages make me lean towards Eubank Jr. winning this fight. My only hope is that it goes the full 12 rounds and we get a rematch later this year.
Bet: Chris Eubank Jr. (-185)
The Best Chris Eubank Jr. vs Conor Benn Prop Bets
The following Chris Eubank Jr. vs Conor Benn prop bets are courtesy of BetUS:
Over/Under 9.5 rounds
- Over 9.5 (-115)
- Under 9.5 (-115)
I’m a bit surprised by the Over/Under of 9.5 rounds. Typically, in big fights we get an O/U of 10.5 rounds as most experts think that these tightly contested bouts will go the distance of 12 rounds.
With that said, I’m taking the Over in this fight. I don’t see Benn getting stopped before the championship rounds. In fact, I don’t see that happening at all.
Bet: Over 9.5 rounds (-115)
Will Fight go the distance?
- Yes (+165)
- No (-230)
The O/U lists this bout at 9.5 rounds and oddsmakers favor the fight to end inside the distance. Based on the feud between these two men, and the fact that Benn has never been stopped as a professional, I’m take this fight to go the full 12 rounds and be decided via the scorecards.
Bet: Yes (+165)
Method of Victory
- Eubank via TKO/KO/DQ (+130)
- Eubank via decision (+275)
- Benn via TKO/KO/DQ (+230)
- Benn via decision (+700)
- Draw (+1400)
Chris Eubank Jr. winning this fight via TKO/KO is the favored option for this prop bet. He’s the favorite for this matchup that sees the oddsmakers favor a stoppage. Some of the best handicappers are leaning in that direction as well.
I’m not leaning towards that outcome. Instead, I believe we’re going the full 12 rounds. Once with the judges, I like Eubank Jr. to win via decision. My hope is that it’s a split decision and we run this back in September or October.
I love a good story and the rivalry between these two families is a highly entertaining, compelling and thrilling storyline in the sport of boxing. In fact, the WWE couldn’t make up something better than this.
Bet: Eubank via decision (+275)
Betting on Rounds
- Either Winner in rounds 1-4 (+400)
- Either Winner in rounds 5-8 (+225)
- Either Winner in rounds 9-12 (+400)
- Fight To Go The Distance (+160)
As you can see from the prop bets above, I’m taking Eubank Jr. to win this fight via decision. So, I’m taking the betting option of this fight to go the distance. With that said, if you insist on taking another option for this prop bet, then look at the fight to end in rounds 9-12.
Bet: Fight To Go The Distance (+160)
What’s Next For The Eubank Jr. vs. Benn Winner?
It’s been reported that these two men have agreed to a two-fight deal. So, no matter the outcome of their bout on Saturday, the two will have a rematch. My hope is for a trilogy war between the two; something that we didn’t get to see with their fathers.
After the rematch is completed, Eubank’s team has already revealed that they want Canelo Alvarez next:
“Eubank against Canelo is the fight Chris wants. This is a two-fight deal against Conor Benn, you’d expect one to happen now and one possibly in October, and then it’s the big one against Canelo. That will ultimately be the dream fight we want and that’s a fight His Excellency (Turki Alalshikh) can make as well, so for Chris that’s certainly the next opponent we want.”
Turki Alalshikh has also come out and declared that the winner of this fight will compete against Alvarez in the future: “Whoever is the winner we are working in the future to have him fight against Canelo.”
I would imagine that Eubank or Benn will have to win both of the agreed fights between the two before getting Alvarez next year. If they split their two bouts, one would hope that a trilogy fight would be needed to decide who fights Canelo.
