NCAA Football Week 6 Point Spread Predictions

Coaches around the country will be on high alert, as Wisconsin and Colorado paying buyouts to fire their coaches this week shows that no one on the fence may be safe.

As conference play heats up, the games will become that much more intense. Here’s a look at the best week 6 college football games to bet on.

Texas Longhorns vs. Oklahoma Sooners

Texas vs. Oklahoma Picks

Best Bet: Oklahoma +6.5

There are some major signs of distress for the Sooners, who have lost two consecutive games. However, the team on the other side of the Red River Showdown has also been inconsistent this season.

Part of the Sooners struggles in an upset loss to TCU last week was due to quarterback Dillon Gabriel leaving with a concussion.

If Gabriel returns, Oklahoma will have the firepower to keep pressure on Texas’ offense. The Longhorns bounced back from a surprising loss to Texas Tech in overtime by smashing West Virginia last weekend. This will be another exciting installment in the series with a lot of points.

Texas will win, but Oklahoma should cover the spread.

Virginia Tech Hokies vs. Pittsburgh Panthers

Virginia Tech vs. Pittsburgh Picks

Best Bet: Virginia Tech +14.5

The Hokies aren’t what they used to be under coach Frank Beamer. However, Virginia Tech will have an advantage against a Pittsburgh team that has lost its way on offense.

The Panthers run-heavy attack flamed out in the rain last weekend and they lost as 21.5-point favorites to Georgia Tech. This game will be one that should end up low-scoring.

The Hokies will find a way to score just enough to cover the spread in ACC play.

Tulsa Golden Hurricane vs. Navy Midshipmen

Tulsa vs. Navy Picks

Best Bet: Tulsa -5.5

The Golden Hurricane haven’t folded over the past two weeks, despite having games against Cincinnati and Ole Miss. What this year’s Tulsa team has proven is that they are going to put up a lot of points no matter who they are playing. The Golden Hurricane rank 36th in the country, scoring 35.4 points per game.

Navy and its triple-option offense hasn’t been up to snuff this season. The Midshipmen are only averaging 176 rush yards per game and scoring 13.3 points per contest. Tulsa will be able to win by more than a touchdown.

Duke Blue Devils vs. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

Duke vs. Georgia Tech Picks

Best Bet: Duke -3

The Blue Devils smashed Virginia last week and will now take on a Yellow Jackets team emboldened by a win over No. 24 Pittsburgh. Georgia Tech’s win over Pitt is a little deceiving.

The Panthers were ranked mostly on what they did last season and haven’t shown the same intense offensive attack they had last year.

The Blue Devils are scoring 35 points per game and will overwhelm Georgia Tech on the road.

North Carolina Tar Heels vs. Miami Hurricanes

North Carolina vs. Miami Picks

Best Bet: North Carolina +4.5

The Tar Heels play an exciting brand of offensive football. Just don’t expect UNC to play much defense. With talented freshman quarterback Drake Maye under center, the Tar Heels haven’t had to worry about that. UNC is sixth in the country in scoring offense, putting up 45.4 points per game.

The Hurricanes will struggle to slow down the Tar Heels, even at home. UNC will provide opportunities for Miami to score, however, as UNC allows 33.6 points per game.
