2022 CFL Regular Season Win Totals Odds and Picks

The CFL gets back to business with its full schedule (18 games) in 2022. The season kicks off over the second weekend in June.

Winnipeg won its second consecutive Grey Cup last year with a thrilling overtime win over Hamilton. Both teams are among the favorites to win this season’s championship.

The Blue Bombers had the best regular season record (11-3) in 2021. Hamilton, which made the Grey Cup final, went 8-6. Toronto won the East Division with a 9-5 record. Teams played just 14 games last season due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Will Winnipeg surpass its win total in 2022? How about the rest of the league? Here’s a look at the 2022 CFL regular season win totals odds and picks.

Montreal Alouettes Win Total Picks

OVER 8.5 (-110)

UNDER 8.5 (-110)

The Alouettes might be the most intriguing team in the CFL. They went 7-7 last season and could very easily go .500 again in 2022.

They have one of the more prolific offenses with QB Vernon Adams Jr. as a true dual-threat. Montreal has a challenging schedule with three games against Toronto. They do, however, also get three games against Ottawa.

The issue for Montreal will be the defense which gave up almost 22 points a game last season. In the last eight seasons, the Alouettes have just one winning season. That will continue as they go Under 8.5 wins in 2022.

Edmonton Elks Win Total Picks

OVER 6.5 (-120)

UNDER 6.5 (+100)

Edmonton could end up as the worst team in the CFL this season. The Elks won just three games last year and the team’s defense rivaled Ottawa for the league worst. Edmonton was the only team in the CFL to lose all of its home games in 2021.

Edmonton revamped its entire front office in an effort to turn things around. The last time the Elks did this poorly – 4-14 in 2013 – they came back and had a winning season (12-6 in 2014). The Elks surprise some people and go Over 6.5 wins.

Toronto Argonauts Win Total Picks

OVER 9.5 (-120)

UNDER 9.5 (+100)

Toronto returns QB McLeod Bethel-Thompson and looks to finish first in the East once again. The Argos went 9-5 last season but lost in the East final to Hamilton.

Playing in the weaker East Division, the Argos play Ottawa three times and crossover to play BC twice. Getting to 10 wins won’t be a problem. Back the Over.

Calgary Stampeders Win Total Picks

OVER 9.5 (-130)

UNDER 9.5 (+110)

Calgary went 8-6 last year and added former NFL draft pick Natrell Jamerson to its defense. The Stampeders finished the season with three straight wins and lost in the West semifinal for the second straight season.

This is a team that went to three straight Grey Cups between 2016 and 2018, winning it in ’18. The issue is playing in the West. However, they will get a healthy Bo Levi Mitchell back at quarterback and that will make a huge difference.

Calgary gets to 10 wins in 2022.

Saskatchewan Roughriders Win Total Picks

OVER 9.5 (-130)

UNDER 9.5 (+110)

Roughriders QB Cody Fajardo’s 7.4 yards per attempt speaks volumes of Saskatchewan’s offense. It’s conservative. The Roughriders were the only team with a winning record last year that didn’t score at least 300 points.

Plus, they lost their top RB William Powell, who signed with Ottawa. Still, the Roughriders are a potential Grey Cup team. Even playing in the West Division, Saskatchewan goes Over 9.5 wins.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers Win Total Picks

OVER 11.5 (-120)

UNDER 11.5 (+100)

The Blue Bombers are the overall favorite to win a third straight Grey Cup. They have the league’s best QB in Zach Collaros, who threw the winning touchdown pass in overtime of last year’s championship game.

Winnipeg almost managed to surpass this win total in last year’s abbreviated season. They probably would have had they not rested their starters in the final two regular season games.

With Collaros leading the offense and the CFL’s best defense, Winnipeg goes Over 11.5 wins in 2022.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats Win Total Picks

OVER 10.5 (-120)

UNDER 10.5 (+100)

The Tiger-Cats didn’t play well on the road and they had a quarterback controversy for much of the season. That won’t happen in 2022.

Dane Evans will take over the starting quarterback job. Hamilton will have to get going quickly as they face Saskatchewan, Calgary, and Winnipeg in their first three games. All three teams had winning records last season.

The thing that helps Hamilton is that they play in the weaker East Division. The problem is that they play division opponent Toronto four times and the Argos went 9-5 last season.

Hamilton may have another great playoff run, but winning 11 regular season games will be difficult. Back the Under.

BC Lions Win Total Picks

OVER 6.5 (-110)

UNDER 6.5 (-110)

BC is a longshot to compete for a playoff spot this season. The Lions are coming off a 5-9 season in 2021. Nathan Rourke will take over as the starting quarterback with the retirement of Mike Reilly.

The BC defense was not good in 2021 and needs to improve. That was the same story heading into last season.

The Lions play in the more difficult West Division. They play the Elks three times, which could get them almost halfway to this total.

BC does play Ottawa twice and Montreal once, but getting a seventh win is going to be difficult. Take the Under.

Ottawa RedBlacks Win Total Picks

OVER 7.5 (-120)

UNDER 7.5 (+100)

In the abbreviated season last year, Ottawa won just three games. The RedBlacks defense was the worst in the CFL and they only won one home game.

Making matters even more difficult in 2022, Ottawa will start the new season with back-to-back games against the defending Grey Cup champions – Winnipeg.

The RedBlacks also had the lowest-scoring offense in the CFL last year. To fix that, they brought in long- time CFL veteran quarterback Jeremiah Masoli. The former Hamilton MOP will turn 34 during the season.

Ottawa plays in the tougher West Division and the Under is at plus-money here. Getting to eight wins will be tough for one of the league’s worst teams. Play the Under.
