The eyes of college football will be focused on Austin, Texas, on Saturday. The Texas Longhorns have a chance to make sure the Big 12 won’t have a team in the College Football Playoff if they can beat TCU. The Horned Frogs are still undefeated and will be eager to keep their undefeated season going.
There are plenty of other games worth betting on as well. Here are the top five college football point spread predictions for week 11.
Miami Hurricanes at Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
Miami vs. Georgia Tech Picks
Best Bet: Georgia Tech -1.5
Miami is 4-5 overall and 1-8 against the spread. Hurricanes quarterback Tyler Van Dyke left the game during the first half of a 45-3 loss to Florida State last week with an apparent shoulder injury.
Georgia Tech has stabilized its season since firing coach Geoff Collins. The Yellow Jackets have gone 3-2 over its past five games and will take down Miami here to inch closer to becoming bowl eligible.
LSU Tigers vs. Arkansas Razorbacks
LSU vs. Arkansas Picks
Best Bet: LSU -3
The Tigers are now in the driver’s seat under first-year coach Brian Kelly to win the SEC West after beating Alabama and Ole Miss in back-to-back games. What LSU has to worry about following an overtime win over the Crimson Tide is a letdown game against Arkansas, which took a loss to Liberty last week. The Tigers are 6-3 against the spread.
The Razorbacks have been up-and-down all season. Arkansas has been torched on defense all season. The Razorbacks are 116th nationally in total yards allowed and 129th in passing yards allowed. LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels will find a way to take advantage.
Purdue Boilermakers vs. Illinois Fighting Illini
Purdue vs. Illinois Picks
Best Bet: Purdue +6.5
The Fighting Illini may be due to some regression to the mean. Illinois shot all the way up to No. 12 in the national rankings before being stopped by a ho-hum Michigan State side last week. Purdue is always in a position to grab an upset thanks to how its offense plays.
The Boilermakers have been able to stretch out opposing defenses all year and will keep this game with the Illini close.
Appalachian State Mountaineers at Marshall Thundering Herd
Appalachian State vs. Marshall Picks
Best Bet: Appalachian State +1
The Mountaineers have to feel like they are a few plays away from being in the race for the Sun Belt championship. However, after Appalachian State lost to Coastal Carolina last week, the Mountaineers are now at 5-4 and in danger of not reaching a bowl. The Mountaineers are 26th nationally in points scored and 28th in rushing yards per game.
Marshall, which is 5-4 with a win over Notre Dame on its resume, has lived behind its stout defense. The Thundering Herd will struggle to keep the Mountaineers off the scoreboard.
UCF Golden Knights at Tulane Green Wave
UCF vs. Tulane Picks
Best Bet: UCF +1.5
The Green Wave are currently sitting as the top dog in the American Athletic Conference. Tulane will figure out how legitimate its No. 16 ranking is in the next two weeks. The Green Wave will have to handle a pair of 7-2 teams, UCF and Cincinnati, that have previously had success on the big stage.
UCF has done a good job of putting up points this season. The Knights have scored 35.7 per game, which puts them at 27th nationally. Tulane is 8-1 against the spread this season, but will take its second loss to a talented UCF squad.
