College football is closing in on the final week of the regular season. That means there are a few games on the schedule that will tower in importance over the rest. For week 13, there is no more important game than “The Game,” according to the followers of Ohio State and Michigan.

The Wolverines are hoping to win back-to-back games against their rival for the first time since they won two straight in 1999 and 2000. More importantly for both sides, the winner will also be assured of a spot in the College Football Playoff.
Here’s a look at five games to bet on in week 13.
Michigan Wolverines at Ohio State Buckeyes
Michigan vs. Ohio State Picks
Best Bet: Buckeyes -8.5
In large part, Michigan barely held on against Illinois last week due to missing star tailback Blake Corum for most of the game. An injury status for Corum is just his word that he will return, but he didn’t say when. If Corum can’t go, Michigan will have a hard time moving the football against the Buckeyes.
The Wolverines were fourth nationally in rushing yards, putting up 243.8 yards per game this season. Michigan’s passing offense only accounted for 208.8 yards per game.
Ohio State also underwhelmed against Maryland last week, but the Buckeyes offensive machine continued to roll on. The Buckeyes will get revenge for last year in a big way.
Louisville Cardinals at Kentucky Wildcats
Louisville vs. Kentucky Picks
Best Bet: Louisville +4.5
The Cardinals have played better football down the stretch and have improved their record to a bowl-eligible 7-4. Louisville’s defense has been sharp all season. The Cardinals rank 19th nationally in scoring defense, only allowing 19.6 points per game.
Kentucky started the season well, but have fallen apart during the SEC schedule. Things won’t get any better against one of their biggest rivals.
Minnesota Golden Gophers at Wisconsin Badgers
Minnesota vs. Wisconsin Picks
Best Bet: Minnesota +3
The Badgers have been an inconsistent bunch and struggled to get by Nebraska last week. Minnesota has had struggles of its own, including a devastating home loss to Iowa, where they were done in by turnovers. The Golden Gophers can lean on Mohamed Ibrahim to carry the offense.
Minnesota’s running back has piled up 1524 yards and averages 5.5 yards per carry. Wisconsin is 5-6 against the spread and 0-2 in their last two games against the spread.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish at USC Trojans
Notre Dame vs. USC Picks
Best Bet: Notre Dame +6
The Fighting Irish have been stout defensively this season. Toward the back half of Notre Dame’s schedule, they are also playing their best football.
The Fighting Irish have covered the spread in three of their last four games, including in wins over Syracuse and Clemson. USC is coming down following a win over UCLA that propelled the Trojans to the Pac-12 title game.
The Trojans need this one to keep their dreams of a national championship alive, but Notre Dame will keep it close.
Oklahoma Sooners at Texas Tech Red Raiders
Oklahoma vs. Texas Tech Picks
Best Bet: Oklahoma -2.5
The Sooners, who are 4-7 against the spread, need a win to avoid a .500 season. Texas Tech has been a competitive team this season, but won’t have enough juice to topple Oklahoma in Lubbock.
