Cowboys Key Losses Heading Into 2022
The Cowboys let some serious talent go in the offseason beginning with WR Amari Cooper who had 68 catches for 865 yards and eight touchdowns last season. DE Randy Gregory is now in Denver and WR Cedrick Wilson Jr. is paired up with Tyreek Hill in Kansas City. The biggest loss of all might be kicker Greg Zuerlein, who made 63 field goals in 76 attempts over the past two seasons.
2022 Dallas Cowboys Team Preview
Dallas figures they can still be one of the best offenses in the NFL with Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott at running back and the wide receiver trio of CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup, and former Pittsburgh Steeler James Washington. TE Dalton Schultz was the team’s second-leading receiver with 78 catches for 808 yards and eight touchdowns.
LB Micah Parsons was the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year. He was the runner-up for the league’s Defensive Player of the Year award after recording 13 sacks, 20 tackles for loss, and 30 quarterback hits. He will be the focal point of a defense that can be very good in 2022.
2022 Dallas Cowboys Schedule
Dallas gets the luxury of playing in the NFC East, one of the weaker divisions in the NFL. Last season, the Cowboys won all six games against the Eagles, Giants, and Commanders. They also get a boost from the schedule gods in 2022.
The Cowboys will face the NFC North, which does mean a game against Green Bay. It also means dates with Minnesota, Chicago, and Detroit. Dallas crosses over to face the AFC South which adds games against Houston and Jacksonville. Dallas gets Indianapolis at home and Tennessee on the road on a Thursday night in December.
2022 Cowboys Regular Season Win Total Prediction
It’s again likely that the Cowboys have great success in the division. Even if they stumble once, they would only have to find five or six more wins to surpass their win total of 10. Playing the likes the NFC North and the AFC South, one has to like their chances.
Dallas won 12 games last season and, while many think they didn’t do enough in the offseason, the Cowboys still have a strong enough roster and a weak enough schedule to win 11 games.
