How to Bet on Boxing Props

Betting on boxing props is often necessary, as many fights are lop-sided and there’s no reason to bet on a huge favorite to win. Fight fans will often find better value betting opportunities with boxing props.

We’re going to explain how to bet on boxing props:

Winning Method Props

With winning method boxing props, the goal is to predict the winning fighter and method of victory. One of the options for this wager is betting on a boxing bout ending in a draw.

Here’s an example:

Errol Spence Jr. by Decision or Technical Decision (+225)

Errol Spence Jr. by TKO/KO/DQ (+500)

Draw (+1400)

Terence Crawford by Decision or Technical Decision (+180)

Terence Crawford by TKO/KO/DQ (+270)

Boxing Betting Guide

Exact Winning Method Props

This boxing props bet is slightly different than the winning method props bet.

Boxing bettors need to predict the winner and the exact winning method. For example, you could bet on Crawford by TKO (+380) or Crawford by Split Decision (+750). You need to predict the exact method of victory, though. If you bet Crawford by TKO, but he wins by KO, the boxing props bet will lose.

Exact Fight Outcome Props

You don’t need to predict the winner of a fight with this boxing props bet. You need to predict exactly how the fight will end with the options being TKO, KO, Unanimous Decision, Split Decision, Majority Decision, Disqualification or Draw. It’s a difficult wager to predict, but the payout odds can be huge.

Will Fight Go the Distance Props

This is a simple yes or no wager on whether or not a boxing bout will go the distance. If you bet on “yes”, the fight needs to go to the judges’ scorecards, if you bet on “no”, the fight has to end by TKO/KO/DQ.

Round Betting in Boxing

Double Chance Props

With this bet, you get a double chance at winning. All double chance boxing props will win if the fighter you select wins by decision, but you can also win if the fighter wins in a specific round.

Here’s an example:

Errol Spence Jr. to Win in Rounds 1-6 or Decision (+180)

Errol Spence Jr. to Win in Rounds 7-12 or Decision (+145)

Terence Crawford to Win in Rounds 1-6 or Decision (+120)

Terence Crawford to Win in Rounds 7-12 or Decision (-120)

If you expect Crawford to win by decision, but you’re worried that he might finish Spence Jr. in the later rounds, you can bet on the double chance boxing props to cover yourself.

First Minute Finish Props

I wouldn’t recommend betting on first minute boxing props, but I want to explain all of the options. With this bet, you’re simply betting on a fight to end in the first 60 seconds of the first round.

Knockdowns Boxing Props Explained

The big bouts will also have knockdowns props available to bet on. The most common knockdowns props are betting on a specific fighter, either fighter or both fighters to be knocked down in a fight.

You can also bet on a boxer to be knocked down and win, total knockdowns in a fight or on a boxer to be knocked down in a specific round. There are also boxing props where you bet on the winner (moneyline) and an over/under on how many knockdowns they’ll land in a fight.
