Injuries play a major impact in how many points get scored when looking at games on the NFL schedule. When that injury comes to quarterbacks, it can disrupt more than just one game.
It can impact a team’s outlook for an entire season. There are some quarterback injuries and returns that weigh heavily on the week 13 NFL schedule.
Here’s a look at the top over/under picks for NFL week 13.
Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears
Best Bet: Under 42.5 Points
Aaron Rodgers had a right thumb injury when he played against the Philadelphia Eagles last week. Rodgers took a hit last week that added an oblique injury to his list of woes. While Green Bay expects Rodgers to play if healthy, there are no guarantees.
Chicago has also had injury issues at quarterback. Trevor Siemian had to start in place of an injured Justin Fields last week. This game could be ugly depending on which quarterback plays, but regardless we expect this match-up to stay under the total.
Kansas City Chiefs at Cincinnati Bengals
Chiefs vs. Bengals Picks
Best Bet: Over 52.5 Points
The Bengals have the misfortune of having two cage matches against teams they eliminated from the playoffs last season two weeks in a row. Cincinnati has the fortune of having an excellent offense, which puts up 25.9 points per game, which ranks fifth in the league. The Bengals will get a boost with the return of wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase.
The Chiefs offense has been steamrolling opponents. Kansas City ranks first in the league by scoring 29.6 points per game. The Chiefs are also first in passing yards at 315.2 yards per game.
Jacksonville Jaguars at Detroit Lions
Jaguars vs. Lions Picks
Best Bet: Over 51.5 Points
Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence found his groove against Baltimore last week, tossing three touchdown passes against Baltimore. Jacksonville should have plenty of opportunities to put up more points against the defensively-challenge Lions. Detroit allows 28.2 points per game, which ranks last in the league.
However, the Lions aren’t afraid to get in slugfests either. Detroit scores 25 points per game, which ranks eighth in the league. The Lions are especially good on the ground, ranking 10th in the league by gaining 129.8 yards per game.
Cleveland Browns at Houston Texans
Browns vs. Texans Picks
Best Bet: Under 46.5 Points
The Browns will get their new quarterback Deshaun Watson into the action. Cleveland has an excellent offense. Even playing with Jacoby Brissett through the first 12 weeks, the Browns were able to put up 23.9 points per game, which ranks 11th in the league. Cleveland will be taking on a Texans offense that has had their issues.
After playing much of the season with Davis Mills, Houston switched to Kyle Allen last week, but he would have many of the same issues. He threw two interceptions and was rusty. The Texans have seen seven of their 11 games go under the total. Houston averages 15.8 points per game, which ranks 30th in the league.
