The Red Storm haven’t won at Villanova’s home arena since 1993. However, St. John’s may have an opening to grab a win over its long-time Big East rival this season. The Wildcats are still adjusting to the retirement of coach Jay Wright. The Red Storm are 11-1 so far this season, while Villanova is 6-5.

This won’t be an easy challenge for St. John’s, but they should be able to cover the spread, if not win outright.

The Tar Heels suffered through a four-game losing streak earlier this season and have underwhelmed since their run to the National Championship game last season. UNC, which is 4-7-1 against the spread, has struggled with ball movement and finding the right shots late in games. The Tar Heels may be on the rebound, however, as they beat a ranked Ohio State team last time out.

Michigan has taken serious strides since the beginning of the season and only lost three games. Two of their three losses came by a combined six points to Virginia and Kentucky. Both teams are 2-2 on neutral floors and this game will be played in Charlotte as part of the Jumpman Invitational.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish at Florida State Seminoles

Best Bet: Notre Dame -2

The Fighting Irish will want to avoid an 0-2 start to conference play in a year where it looks like there will be a lot of parity in the ACC. Florida State is 3-10 overall, but 1-1 in conference play. The Seminoles haven’t shot the ball well this season.

Florida State only shoots 42.1 percent from the field, which ranks 296th nationally. Notre Dame is 2-9 against the spread, while the Seminoles are 5-8.

The Dons have gone 3-4 after a 6-0 start. San Francisco has yet to pick up a win over a quality opponent, failing to beat Davidson, Utah State or New Mexico. Arizona State, which is ranked No. 25, seems to have put many of its struggles from last season behind them.

The Sun Devils will grab a key win on the road against a Dons team that is still trying to work out some kinks in their lineup.

USC Trojans at Colorado State Rams

Things looked like they may go sideways for the Trojans this season. USC lost its opener to Florida Gulf Coast. However, the Trojans have started to build some steam as they are on a five-game winning streak, including two Pac-12 wins, to improve to 9-4.

Colorado State will give the Trojans a fierce test. The Rams are coming off a narrow two-point win over Saint Mary’s.
