Traditionally held over the Memorial Day weekend, the Indy 500 takes place at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) in Indiana. The 2.5-mile track has hosted the race since 1911, making it one of the most historic events in motorsport.
Grand Prix of St. Petersburg
The Grand Prix of St. Petersburg is a hugely exciting race that takes place in St. Petersburg, Florida. The event occurs on a temporary course, using downtown streets and even part of a runway at Albert Whitted Airport.
Since 2009, the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg has typically been the opening race of the IndyCar season. Only one driver – Brazil’s Helio Castroneves – has won the race more than twice, highlighting the difficulty of the course.
Grand Prix of Long Beach
Believe it or not, the Grand Prix of Long Beach is officially the longest-running major street race held in North America. After starting as a Formula 5000 race back in 1975, the Grand Prix of Long Beach served as a Formula 1 event before becoming one of the best IndyCar races to bet on.
The race takes place on a street circuit in downtown Long Beach, California, making it one of the most iconic settings for an IndyCar event. Since 2008, Will Power, Mike Conway and Alexander Rossi are the only drivers to have won the race twice.
Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio
Held at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio, the Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio is undoubtedly one of the top IndyCar races to bet on. The 200-mile race requires drivers to complete 90 laps of the circuit, making it one of the toughest races on the calendar.
The Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio became a mainstay on the IndyCar Series schedule in 2007. Since then, New Zealander Scott Dixon has won a record six races, including five victories in eight years between 2007 and 2014.
Grand Prix of Road America
The Grand Prix of Road America is held at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. The race was introduced to the IndyCar Series schedule in 2016, making it one of the newest IndyCar races to bet on.
Australian driver Will Power won the inaugural race, while Josef Newgarden, Scott Dixon and Alex Palou have each triumphed on two occasions since then.
Grand Prix of Monterey
Following a 15-year hiatus, the Grand Prix of Monterey returned to the IndyCar calendar in 2019, replacing the Grand Prix of Sonoma. Now, the Grand Prix of Monterey is one of the best IndyCar races to bet on.
The event is held at Laguna Seca Raceway near Monterey, California. Drivers must complete 95 laps of the 2.238-mile track, giving bettors plenty of time to place both pre-race and in-play wagers.
