Three Betting Favorites to Consider Sunday in the NBA

Even though the NFL’s conference championship games will be taking place on Sunday, there is also a full slate of NBA games. And that means there are several bets you can choose from.

Where to Bet on the NBA in 2021

Continue reading as we discuss three games you should consider wagering on. These are three favorites you should bet on.

Charlotte Hornets at Orlando Magic Best Bets

Hornets vs. Magic Stats and Trends

Pick: Magic (-3.5)

The matchup between Charlotte and Orlando will be an intriguing one. The Hornets are coming off a tight loss to the Bulls and a contest in which LaMelo Ball saw reduced minutes.

The team got Cody Zeller back, who had injured his hand in the very early portion of the season. The Hornets finally have two legitimate center options now, no longer having to employ the under-sized PJ Washington there.

Orlando went from winning on a buzzer-beater to losing on one in just a two-game span. The late-game heroics of rookie Cole Anthony were quickly forgotten when Indiana’s Doug McDermott found Malcolm Brogdon for the open three with just a few seconds left on Friday night.

Still, Orlando is a talented team and will be better now that Evan Fournier has finally returned to the lineup.

There is no question about betting Orlando here. As good as Gordon Hayward has been, the rest of the Hornets are extremely inconsistent.

Nikola Vucevic is going to feast on the Charlotte big men. Orlando -2.5, please.

NBA Point Spread Odds

Atlanta Hawks at Milwaukee Bucks Best Bets

Hawks vs. Bucks Stats and Trends

Pick: Bucks (-9)

It has been an oddly up-and-down season for the Hawks, who have gotten almost no productivity from their valued offseason signings. Bogdan Bogdanovic is sidelined with a knee injury, while Danilo Gallinari has not been able to stay healthy.

All of Rajon Rondo’s minutes have been at the point guard spot, limiting his ability to have big performances as he did with the Lakers last season. He hasn’t played next to Trae Young at all.

Meanwhile, Milwaukee is still waiting on Giannis Antetokounmpo to start playing like the league MVP of the past two seasons. His averages are impressive as they always are, but his turnovers are up, and his free-throw percentage is way down.

The Bucks have not been as dominant as in past years, and Antetokounmpo may have a hard time penetrating the paint against Clint Capela, who just blocked 10 shots against Minnesota on Friday.

For all of the things Young and Capela can do, though, they cannot keep up with the Bucks. Atlanta’s defense will not be able to stop Khris Middleton from spraying threes. Bucks -9 is fair.

New York Knicks at Portland Trail Blazers Best Bets

Knicks vs. Trail Blazers Stats and Trends

Pick: Trail Blazers (-5)

It has been an interesting last four games for the New York Knicks. On the bright side, they got Alec Burks back into the lineup, and rookie Obi Toppin has started to play well.

On the downside, they took a loss to the Sacramento Kings, and they have been without Austin Rivers. Also, the great inconsistency that is Kevin Knox’s play continues to show through.

RJ Barrett and Julius Randle have helped the Knicks to a 3-1 record in their last four despite a surprising loss to Sacramento on Friday night.

Meanwhile, Portland is without two key starters, but this does not mean you can count them out. Even with CJ McCollum and Jusuf Nurkic out, the other guys can step up and fill the void for Portland.

The Trail Blazers have a lot of talent, with Damian Lillard highlighting the group. The defensive prowess of Derrick Jones Jr. and Robert Covington is a difference-maker.

And it helps to still have Carmelo Anthony providing offense, even if it’s in a bench role for the first time in his career.

This game is a little tricky, but the small spread should give you the necessary confidence to bet on Portland. Five points isn’t much, so count on the Trail Blazers to cover.
