NBA Playoffs Report: Updated Odds to Win 2020 Championship

The regular season has concluded, the play-in tournament between Memphis and Portland is over (Portland advanced) and it’s finally time where every single game counts.

The NBA playoffs will get underway this afternoon.

We wanted to update NBA bettors with the first round match-ups and latest NBA futures odds.

2020 NBA Playoffs First Round Match-Ups

Here are the first round NBA playoffs match-ups with odds to win the series:

Bet on the NBA Playoffs Today with the Best Basketball Bookies.

Eastern Conference:

#1 Bucks (-12190) vs. #8 Magic (+3455)

#2 Raptors (-3400) vs. #7 Nets (+1375)

#3 Celtics (-440) vs. #6 76ers (+340)

#4 Pacers (+245) vs. #5 Heat (-305)

Western Conference:

#1 Lakers (-590) vs. #8 Trail Blazers (+440)

#2 Clippers (-630) vs. #7 Mavericks (+465)

#3 Nuggets (-290) vs. #6 Jazz (+235)

#4 Rockets (-160) vs. Thunder (+135)

The NBA playoffs 1st round series betting odds are from America’s Bookie.

In the East, the Pacers are the only team that interests me. The Heat went just 3-5 in the eight games since returning to play in the NBA Bubble, while the Pacers went 6-2.

These two teams played each other twice in the bubble – the Heat won the first game (114-92) and the Pacers won the second (109-92). This series is a toss-up, so I like the value on Indiana.

In the West, the Houston Rockets at –160 is worth a bet against OKC. James Harden has looked great in the bubble. He has had two games of 45+ points already. Russell Westbrook is injured, though, which is why we’re getting this line. Players like Eric Gordon will need to step up until Westbrook can return.

Updated Odds to Win the 2020 NBA Title

Now that the NBA playoffs bracket is set, let’s take a look at the updated odds to win it all.

You can also check out our 2020 NBA Finals match-up predictions. Based on play from the bubble, there’s a chance that those predictions from June will come through when it’s all said and done.

The Clippers are favored to win the 2020 NBA Championship despite going 5-3 since resuming to play and losing to the Lakers (103-101) in the first game back after the season’s postponement.

Milwaukee have looked terrible in the bubble. They went 3-5 in their bubble games, which included a 114-106 loss to the Raptors, although starters for both teams sat the game out.

Giannis Antetokounmpo has looked unstoppable, but he’ll need help as the playoffs progress. In the four games where Giannis played 30+ minutes since returning, he has scored 33+ points and grabbed 12+ rebounds. However, he did struggle against the Raptors last season in the playoffs.

Could we see a big upset in the 2020 NBA Finals?

With the Lakers/Clippers in the West and the Bucks/Raptors in the East, I doubt it. Could the Rockets, Nuggets or Celtics surprise everyone? Absolutely. I just wouldn’t count on it.

Based on the bubble play and the latest odds, the best bet to win the 2020 NBA Championship are the Toronto Raptors. They’re going to play with a chip on their shoulder throughout the playoffs, as everyone outside of Toronto wrote them off once Kawhi Leonard left for Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Lakers (+300)
