Despite the dominating performance last season, Liverpool are second in the futures market.

Liverpool are +200 odds to repeat as Premier League winners in 2020/21.

Manchester City (-125 odds) are odds-on to win the Premier League. Manchester City won the 2017/18 and 2018/19 EPL titles and they have a bigger transfer budget than Liverpool this season.

Is This Premier League Season a Two-Team Race?

Liverpool finished last season with 99 points, City had 81 points and then Manchester United finished way back in third place with 66 points. I expect this season to be another two-team race.

After starting last campaign on a 27-match undefeated streak (26-1-0), Liverpool weren’t going to be caught. With a new season and everyone starting at 0-0-0, City will be looking for some revenge.

My prediction for the 2020/21 Premier League outright winner is Manchester City (-125).

Chelsea finished with 66 points just like Manchester United last season. The Blues are +175 to win with Liverpool/City excluded, but I wouldn’t bet them over the Red Devils in 2020/21.

2020/21 EPL Winner Picks (Without the Big Six Teams)

With this market, the best plan of attack is to target a value play.

Wolverhampton (+220) and Leicester City (+240) are the top two favorites in the market, but at that price, I wouldn’t be betting either. Leicester finished 5th on the table (62 Points) last campaign and ended up winning this futures market, while Wolverhampton finished 7th on the table (59 Points).

My pick in this market is Sheffield United who finished 9th on the table (54 Points) in 2019/20. They struggled once play resumed, but they had one of the best defenses (39 GA – 4th). Considering they had just earned Premier League promotion – it was a respectable campaign.

If they can start scoring a bit more consistently (39 GF), they’d be contenders this season.
