The last time that the NASCAR Cup Series raced at Road America was in the 1950s so don’t look for stats to pull from! The good news is that there are things that point to a favorite and that includes current Cup Series drivers with road course wins.
That puts Chase Elliott at the top of the favorites list heading into the Jockey Made in America 250 race weekend at +240.
There is only a slight difference between him and Kyle Larson who comes in at +250 following a start to the season that includes five wins including the All-Star race. Elliott only has one win this season and it came on a road course a few weeks ago at the Texas Grand Prix at COTA.
Larson has one road course win, several weeks ago at Sonoma, in the NASCAR Cup Series with none in the Xfinity Series. That’s an indicator that oddsmakers are looking at Elliott’s road course dominance over his career and comparing it to Larson’s performance this season.
Joey Logano, like Larson, only has one road course win in his Cup career and he rounds out the top-five favorites at +1200. Here are the top-five favorite drivers to win according to Intertops.
Chase Elliott +240
Kyle Larson +250
Martin Truex Jr +550
Kyle Busch +800
Joey Logano +1200

Buescher won the 2013 ARCA Series race and Bell won the 2019 Xfinity race. Cindric got his Xfinity win at Road America last season.
2021 Jockey Made in America 250 Predictions
Chase Elliott +240
Chase Elliott is an obvious favorite for this race due to his road course resume which is why I’ve listed him here. You just can’t get past the numbers. He’s raced on-road course 15 times in his Cup Series career with six wins. But the payoff possibility may not be high enough for some people who may look for better value down the entry list.
Martin Truex Jr +550
Martin Truex Jr was one of the drivers fighting for a win on a road course this season when he finished third behind Larson and Elliott. Truex has four Cup Series wins on road courses and 18 top-ten finishes in 36 RC starts. He’s also won three times this season.
Christopher Bell +3300
Christopher Bell is a great example of a value pick this week in my opinion. He has a win at the track in the Xfinity Series. He’s also planning on running the TransAm race at the track before the Cup Series race. Also, Bell has a win this season which came on the Daytona road course.
Others: Once again, I’m looking at Busch as a possibility. He comes in as a favorite at +800 but has been very inconsistent this year. That being said, he does have two Cup wins this season and has won on road courses several times. Ryan Blaney and Kevin Harvick both come in at +2500 and they both look good as value picks. I’m leaning towards Harvick as he plans, like Busch, on running the Xfinity Series race for added seat time.
