2021 CFL Regular Season Win Totals Odds and Picks

A modified 14-week (12 game) CFL schedule gets underway the first week in August as football north of the border resumes play after last year’s hiatus due to COVID-19. Betting odds for the OVER/UNDER on projected team wins offer some decent value for five of the nine teams.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats Win Total Predictions

OVER 9.5 Wins -115

UNDER 9.5 Wins -115

Hamilton remains a +300 favorite to win the CFL Grey Cup title in 2021. On paper, this appears to be the most talented team in the league coming off the extended break. Playing in the East Division is another boost to the Tiger-Cats betting value with a few more easier wins along the way.

Look for Hamilton to get to 10 wins take the total projected wins OVER 9.5.

Calgary Stampeders Win Total Predictions

OVER 7.5 Wins -115

UNDER 7.5 Wins -115

Calgary has been the class of the CFL for a number of seasons and it still has one of league’s best quarterbacks under center in Bo Levi Mitchell. He missed most of the 2019 season due to injury so the rust will be rather thick to start. However, Calgary still has enough talent to compete for the West Division crown.

Look for the Stampeders to win at least eight games to pay off a winner on the OVER 7.5.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers Win Total Predictions

OVER 8.5 Wins +100

UNDER 8.5 Wins -130

Winnipeg has the best CFL futures betting odds to win the 2021 league title in the West at +375. This should translate to at least nine wins in the final regular season standings. When healthy, Zach Collaros is one of the best pure passers in the CFL. I still have this division title coming down to the Blue Bombers and the Stampeders battling it out for first. This should add up to at least nine wins for Winnipeg.

Look for Winnipeg to get to nine wins this season as a value bet for the OVER on the projected total.

Montreal Alouettes Win Total Predictions

OVER 6.5 Wins -115

UNDER 6.5 Wins -115

Montreal was a team on the rise before the CFL shut things down in 2020. The expectation level for this season is not too high when it comes to projected wins. Yet, I still have the Alouettes getting to seven wins. Vernon Adams Jr. is underrated at the quarterback position and he is surrounded by playmakers in running back William Stanback and wide receiver Eugene Lewis.

Hamilton remains the team to beat in the East but Montreal should earn a spot in the postseason as the second-best club.

Look for Montreal to get to seven wins in a bit of a surprising run.

British Columbia Lions Win Total Predictions

OVER 5.5 Wins -130

UNDER 5.5 Wins +100

BC is my sleeper team in the West this season. That is not to say it will win the West but this team will win at least six games. There are quite a few new faces this year starting with the front office and coaching staff. However, this is not a total rebuilding project. The Lions’ success could hinge on their defense. This unit has been completely rebuilt with seven starters gone from the dreadful 2019 campaign. There will be some growing pains but it still adds up to more than five wins.

Look for BC to squeeze out a 6-6 record in 2021.
