There will be plenty of betting focus placed on the NCAA Tournament on Saturday, but the NHL shouldn’t be ignored. There is a full slate of hockey games on tap, and this is the most important time of the year for NHL teams.
Since there are so many games scheduled, it’s pretty easy to pick out some of the top betting options. Here are the best NHL bets to make for Saturday, March 26, and several different betting types are included.
Moneyline Underdog: St. Louis Blues +145
The St. Louis Blues host the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night, and this has the potential to be one of the best games of the night. Carolina is one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference, and St. Louis is trying to get to that spot in the West.
Both of these teams have gone just 1-4 in their last five games, and that will make each team desperate. Carolina is scoring 3.25 goals per game, while St. Louis is averaging more than 3.5 goals per night.
The Hurricanes are the better overall team, but St. Louis is tough at home. Take the Blues at +145 to pick up an upset win and protect the home court.
Puck Line: Los Angeles Kings -1.5
The Kings host the Seattle Kraken, and it has not been a good year for this expansion team. The Kraken are losing games by nearly one goal per night, and they have been much worse on the road this season.
Los Angeles is trying to hold onto a playoff spot in the West, and they have been a terrific defensive team. The Kings still struggle to score at times, but that won’t be a problem on Saturday night.
This is a must-win game for Los Angeles, and the Kings take control early and win this game by at least two goals.
Game Total: Oilers / Flames Over 6.5 Goals
The Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames are two of the highest-scoring teams in the league, and they meet up on Saturday. With that in mind, the over/under is set at 6.5 goals, which is something that you don’t see very often.
Not only can both teams score, but each team should be in the playoff field this year. This should create a terrific battle, and each team will be looking to score to keep pace.
You don’t usually want to bank on there being seven goals often, but that will happen in this one. Take the over 6.5 goals and look for this total to be closer to eight.
Parlay: San Jose Sharks -150 / Minnesota Wild -240
Ducks vs. Sharks Picks / Blue Jackets vs. Wild Picks
Instead of simply betting on individual games, you can also put together a two-team parlay if you are looking for a bigger win. There are a couple of different ways to go about this, but the best is simply taking two moneyline bets.
The San Jose Sharks host the Anaheim Ducks, and this should be a terrific battle. There won’t be much separation all game, but it will be the Sharks that take care of business at home.
Minnesota hosts the Columbus Blue Jackets, and there is a chance that this game gets out of hand. The Wild sometimes give up too many goals to trust, but they have enough offense to beat the Blue Jackets at home.
