This year’s NBA Draft will take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Thursday, July 29. The top online sportsbooks taking action on this event have already posted an extended list of betting options.
One of the best ways to bet on the NBA Draft is by evaluating all the OVER/UNDER betting options for a particular player’s draft position. There is definitely some value to be found if you know where and how to look.
I have come up with my own Top 5 list of NBA draft position prop bet picks.
Ayo Dosunmu Draft Position
Odds: UNDER 27 (-130) OVER 27 (-110)
The former Illinois shooting guard will most likely be drafted between the 25th overall pick of the draft and the 30th and final pick of the first round.
The two most interested teams are Denver Nuggets at No. 26 and the Los Angeles Clippers at No. 25 to add some value to an UNDER bet. However, he could slip higher if both teams pass. There is a pretty strong consensus among various NBA mock drafts that the Nuggets will add Dosunmu to their roster because of his strong defensive skills.
Prediction: UNDER -130
Davion Mitchell Draft Position
Odds: UNDER 10.5 (-110) OVER 10.5 (-130)
Mitchell has caught the eye of the Golden State Warriors at No. 7 in that team’s effort to rejoin the NBA elite. Yet, he could easily slip further down the board if the Warriors go in a different direction.
The former Baylor point guard would be a good fit with San Antonio at No. 12 or possibly Washington with the No. 15 overall pick. If he does go past 10.5 it would be a steal given his overall talent but that is the way I am leaning.
Prediction: OVER -130
James Bouknight Draft Position
Odds: UNDER 7.5 (-110) OVER 7.5 (-130)
As one of the elite players in this year’s draft, there has been quite a bit of discussion concerning Bouknight’s actual draft position. My take is that the former shooting guard from Connecticut may be a bit overrated for a pick inside the top seven players.
The most likely scenario for his draft position is No. 8 to the Orlando Magic. The Magic also have the fifth overall position to land a pair of impact players this year.
Prediction: OVER -130
Tre Mann Draft Position
Odds: UNDER 25.5 (+100) OVER 25.5 (-140)
This is another quality player that should land in the final 10 picks of the first round because of his size and skills at the point guard position.
A top landing spot for the former Florida Gator would be the Philadelphia 76ers at No. 28. However, Brooklyn has also shown some interest with the 27th overall pick. Either way, I do not see any NBA team pulling the trigger on Mann at No. 25 or below. This is one of my stronger bets for these player position props.
Prediction: OVER -140
Moses Moody Draft Position
Odds: UNDER 11.5 (-115) OVER 11.5 (-125)
Moody could be another option for Golden State at No. 7. The New Orleans Pelicans are a potential landing spot at No. 10.
During his only season at Arkansas, the shooting guard did catch some eyes with his mature demeanor on the court as a young freshman (18). He was also a consistent three-point shooter throughout the year. At 6-foot-6, 205 lbs., he has the size and skills to make an impact as a rookie in this league.
Prediction: UNDER -115
