For those of us who have been on the Cobra Kai journey since its YouTube debut in 2018, it’s bittersweet that the sixth and final season has finally arrived. Although we’re getting crane kicked in the gut with the end of our beloved series, at least Netflix was kind enough to break up the final season into three parts and give us more time to enjoy the last ride.

It’s been 40 years since the first Karate Kid movie put fans in emotional body bags with an endearing story of triumph and perseverance. Now, they’re sweeping the legs and hearts out of us all, as we say goodbye to a franchise that became a pop culture phenomenon for multiple generations.

Continue reading as we take a look at the latest Cobra Kai odds, season 6 details, Cobra Kai rumors, and make our Cobra Kai season 6 predictions.

Cobra Kai Season 6 Release Date

When is Cobra Kai season 6 coming out

This question has been on the minds, lips and fingertips of Cobra Kai fans since season 5 ended in September 2022. As mentioned, Cobra Kai season 6 will be released in three installments of five episodes each.

The first installment of episodes will be released on July 18, 2024. This is roughly 22 months since the last episodes dropped on Netflix.

The second installment of season 6 episodes is scheduled to stream on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2024. What a fantastic way to celebrate the holiday: food, football, and the Sekei Taikai tournament.

The third and final installment of episodes will be released in 2025. As of this writing, Netflix has not confirmed the exact date of release.

Josh Heald, co-creator of Cobra Kai, commented on the final season as he alluded to how Netflix fully supported their vision of giving proper closure to generations of fans:

“We wanted to go out on our own terms. We grew up with the ‘Karate Kid’ franchise, and we have so much respect for the universe. We wanted to expand the universe in all the ways we have. Between seasons five and six, we approached Netflix and said, ‘We’re ready to bring this in for a landing.’ We told them the story that we wanted to tell, and they supported the decision.”

Cobra Kai Season 6 Trailer

In May, Netflix released a teaser trailer for the final season of Cobra Kai. It prompted more questions than answers. Fortunately, we got more information in the beginning of July, when Netflix dropped this full-length trailer, which has Cobra Kai fans buzzing:

Cobra Kai Season 6 Episode Titles

  • Season 6, Ep. 1: “Peacetime in the Valley”
  • Season 6, Ep. 2: “The Prize”
  • Season 6, Ep. 3: “Sleeper”
  • Season 6, Ep. 4: “Underdogs”
  • Season 6, Ep. 5: “Best of the Best”

Cobra Kai Season 6 Casting

All of the major characters that we have invested our emotional time and energy into, are returning for the final season of Cobra Kai. The cast is led by the original Karate Kid franchise stars:

  • Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso
  • William Zabka as Johnny Lawrence
  • Martin Kove as John Kreese
  • Thomas Ian Griffith as Terry Silver
  • Yuji Okumoto as Chozen Toguchi
  • Sean Kanan as Mike Barnes

And, of course, we’ll see our favorite Cobra Kai stars including Courtney Henggeler (Amanda LaRusso), Vanessa Rubio (Carmen Diaz), Xolo Mariduena (Miguel Diaz), Tanner Buchanan (Robby Keene), Mary Mouser (Samantha LaRusso), Jacob Bertrand (Eli “Hawk” Moskowitz), Peyton List (Tory Nichols), Dallas Dupree Young (Kenny Payne) and many more.

One of the more notable additions to the season 6 cast is C.S. Lee as he will play Master Kim Sun-Young. This character has been mentioned or seen in flashbacks for both the Karate Kid movies and episodes of Cobra Kai. His wicked granddaughter Kim Da-Eun, played by Alicia Hannah-Him, will become a main-cast character in season 6 as well.

How Did Cobra Kai Season 5 End?

The Cobra Kai season 5 finale was a fantastic foray into the epic battle of good vs. evil as we saw Johnny, Chozen and Mike take on Terry Silver and his army of thugs at his house. While this was happening, students from Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang broke into the Cobra Kai dojo to find, steal and upload evidence of Silver’s corruption.

Eventually, this would lead to Silver and Daniel LaRusso engaging in a death-defying duel. Ultimately, our beloved Daniel would finally get the better of the ruthless Terry Silver. Cobra Kai students, and the rest of the All Valley Tournament supporters, would find out just how corrupt and evil Silver was. The students would leave Cobra Kai and Silver would leave in handcuffs and presumably defeated.

Fans of the show would be left wondering what’s next. As we head into season 6, it appears that the Sekai Taikai tournament will be the main focus of the final season.

And, there’s an added mystery as a bonus storyline. The LaRusso family and Chozen find a large box that’s filled with secrets from Mr. Miyagi’s past.

Let’s also not forget that Jon Kreese will return with a dojo full of misguided and cold-hearted students. How will Kreese attempt to get his revenge against his two biggest failures: LaRusso and Lawrence?

Cobra Kai Season 6 Rumors

The biggest Cobra Kai season 6 rumors centered on two popular characters. The first rumor was about Terry Silvers’s return to season 6 after his downfall in season 5. I think it’s clear by now that Silver will be back for the final season. What happens to Silver in season 6 will be fun to speculate.

The other rumor that fans have been buzzing about for the last few years has been whether or not Hillary Swank appears in Cobra Kai. Unfortunately, Swank’s appearance seems to be more of a wish and a hope than a reality. The popular actress doused the Cobra Kai flames with the following comments:

“I don’t think I am, unfortunately. I know. It’s, like, the number one question I get right now. Most people usually say, ‘What’s it like working with Clint Eastwood?’ But I think, ‘Are you going to be on Cobra Kai has almost surpassed that?'”

Cobra Kai Season 6 Predictions

Now that we’ve set the table for the first segment of Cobra Kai season 6, let’s take a look at the options for the Cobra Kai prop bet and make our predictions:

Member of Miyagi-Do or Eagle Fang win Sekai Taikai (-140)

The world’s most preeminent karate tournament, Sekai Taikai, will be front and center for at least the first five episodes of season six. I imagine it will span most of the final season, but there are hints and buzz that bigger stories could be at play during the series concluding episodes.

As for the winner of the tournament, it’s hard to imagine that a student from any other dojo than Miyagi-Do or Eagle Fang win this tournament.

Since Daniel crane kicked Johnny in the face at the end of the first Karate Kid movie, this franchise has had one central theme – good overcoming evil. Sure, there were moments that evil got the upper hand. But ultimately, good prevailed in the form of LaRusso, Lawrence, or Mr. Miyagi himself.

I believe that theme will continue in the final season of Cobra Kai as one of the students from the two heroic dojos will win the Sekai Taika. What’s more interesting to me, is which student will win the tournament.

Terry Silver to cheat in the Sekai Taikai (+400)

When hasn’t Silver cheated? He’s been cheating since the 80s and there’s no reason for Terry to stop now. In fact, with how things ended for him in season five, Silver’s dastardly deeds should rise to new levels in the final season. I expect Silver to cheat, lie, steal and do whatever he can to try and conquer LaRusso, Lawrence and Kreese.

Anthony LaRusso & Devon Lee on screen lip kiss (+600)

Lee has bounced around numerous dojos in her quest to become the best. Although there’s going to be lots of kissing, crying, and fighting in the final season, I think there are better stories for Lee than connecting with Anthony LaRusso, who might be the most annoying character in all of Cobra Kai.

Daniel LaRusso & Terry Silver fight in Episode 1 (+800)

As much as we would love to see these to fight again, it’s hard to put money on another duel to take place in season six’s first episode. We have no idea what’s going to happen to Silver after the conclusion of season five. So, it might be asking a lot to have the ultimate baddie engage in another mortal combat with LaRusso.

Terry Silver to die (+1000)

It’s been rare to see anyone die in Cobra Kai. The most notable death in the series was when one of the original Cobra Kai members, Tommy, died during season two. In real life, Rob Garrison died of cancer. On the show, he died in his sleep when Johnny, Jimmy, and Bobby busted him out of the hospital to take him camping one last time.

So, for Silver to die, it would be an epic moment in the history of the “Miyagi-verse” and something that should probably happen. Unfortunately, I don’t see it happening. Silver and Kreese are like cockroaches, they will never die.

Carmen Diaz to die (+1000)

Carmen Diaz, Miguel’s mom and Johny’s love interest, has been in a few intense moments throughout the series. But do you really see any reason for her to die? It would’ve made more sense for her to get bumped off last season when Silver was terrorizing everyone.

With that said, it would make for a great cliffhanger if Diaz dies at the end of the second installment of episodes. That could lead to Miguel going full Anakin Skywalker, Johnny going off the deep end, and fans going crazy as they have to wait several months for the final episodes.

Daniel LaRusso & Carmen Diaz on screen lip kiss (+1200)

I’m not sure why online betting sites, like BetOnline, are fixated on Carmen Diaz, but it would be hilarious if LaRusso steals another woman from Johnny.

However, I don’t see Cobra Kai promoting adultery considering Daniel is happily married and chose his wife over the returning love interests of Ali Mills (Elisabeth Shue) and Kumiko (Tamlyn Tomita).

I’m not going to lie; I was rooting for a LaRusso divorce and Daniel living a happily ever after with Kumiko as Peter Cetera’s “Glory of Love” played in the background just like in the movie Karate Kid II.

Betting On Cobra Kai Season 6

I expect more Cobra Kai prop bets to be listed after the first installment of episodes comes and goes. With that said, we have this prop bet to address.

If you are looking to bet on Cobra Kai season 6, there’s two options worth your money: Miyagi-Do or Eagle Fang winning the Sekai Taikai (-140) and Terry Silver cheating in the tournament (+400).

The latter offers more value, but the former feels like a foregone conclusion.

Bet: Member of Miyagi-Do or Eagle Fang win Sekai Taikai (-140)

A New Karate Kid Movie

Karate Kid and Cobra Kai fans, just because the hit series is ending doesn’t mean our beloved characters are gone forever. There is a new Karate Kid film scheduled to be released in May 2025. This film is said to be a crossover between Daniel LaRusso’s Karate Kid and Jackie Chan’s Mr. Han from the 2010 Karate Kid movie.

Some fans speculate that Mr. Han could be a relative of Mr. Miyagi. This certainly makes it easy to cross over the two franchises.

The other possibility is that Mr. Han and Daniel LaRusso meet at the Sekai Taikai, which would make for an exciting appearance from Jackie Chan on Cobra Kai. It would also make for a natural continuation into the new film.
