2025 Golden Raspberry Awards Odds and Predictions

Last Updated on

We are fully into Hollywood awards season, and this weekend the run of entertainment events hits a hard wall. No, I’m not just talking about the Oscars, but also the other side of the conversation.

While the best films in Hollywood deserve their day in the sun, there’s a lot of shoddy work out there, and the Razzies make sure everyone knows about it. That’s right, Golden Raspberry Awards odds are back up online, and you can take advantage of some massive names “earning” some ill fated hardware.

There have been some gracious winners in the past, but it’s probably fair to assume that few actors, directors, or producers desire to be attached to the Razzies. You can just be thankful you’re not among them, of course, and find a way to profit off their despair.

You can do that by turning to some of the best sports betting handicappers available online, or just read on for my 2025 Razzies predictions.

What Is A Golden Raspberry Award?

Unlike an acclaimed award show like the Oscars, the Golden Raspberry Awards were created to shine a light on the worst performances in cinema each year. If you win an award at the Razzies, it means you were a special kind of awful at acting, directing, or had had something to do with an atrocious production.

When Are The Golden Raspberry Awards?

This year’s Razzies are almost here, as they go down on Saturday, March 1st, 2025. Razzies nominees were announced in January, and the winners will be made known the night before the Academy Awards fire off.

How To Watch the Golden Raspberry Awards?

Sadly, the Razzies don’t get the huge stage awards shows like the Golden Globes or Grammys do. Instead, you’ll have to settle for tuning into the program on the Razzie Awards YouTube channel, or by heading to the event’s website.

The odds for some of the Razzies markets are actually pretty appealing. A few could be traps, but the first four categories look like slam dunks.

Of course, this awards show isn’t so cut and dry as events like the Critics Choice Awards or the BAFTAs, which often just go with the top betting favorites. The Golden Raspberry Awards can often be a bit more unpredictable, so there can be nuance to how you bet.

I still like a lot of the favorites, of course, but will be more willing than usual to roll the dice on some shakier categories.

With that, let’s dive deeper into my picks and why I like them.

Golden Raspberry Awards Predictions

Check out our predictions for the 45th Golden Raspberry Awards:

Worst Film

  • Madame Web (-200)
  • Joker: Folie a Deux (-150)
  • Megalopolis (+300)
  • Borderlands (+350)
  • Reagan (+1000)

Joker: Folie a Deux deserves to win this award and it’s honestly insane that it isn’t actually the favorite.

Don’t get me wrong, no form of media has ever misused Sydney Sweeney in a worse way than Madame Web, while Dakota Johnson was absolutely atrocious in a film that earned every bit of it’s 11% Rotten Tomatoes score.

That said, it’s largely due to absurd expectations that Joker: Folie a Deux is the winner here. Not only did the original Joker flick win awards and garner an elite rating at almost every film review website, but there were high hopes for a successful encore.

Joker 2 didn’t just miss the mark. It completely bungled a hit, turned a dark, gritty film into a silly musical that said very little and went absolutely nowhere. It is the runaway favorite in my mind, even if Madam Web would be a fitting champion.

Bet: Joker: Folie a Deux (-150)

Worst Actor

  • Joaquin Phoenix (-150)
  • Jerry Seinfeld (+125)
  • Zachary Levi (+300)
  • Dennis Quaid (+300)
  • Jack Black (+500)

If Joker: Folie a Deux is in line to win for worst movie of the year, you better believe its big star should be in the mix to win for worst actor, too.

I will say that I don’t necessarily think Joaquin Phoenix delivered the worst acting performance when compared to his competition here. He certainly is the most talented actor on this list, and he also happens to be the most successful.

That’s the main reason he’s the pick, though. Phoenix literally won an Oscar for his work in the original Joker film, so it’s only fitting that he’d be publicly shamed for completely fumbling the opportunity to extend the story in round two.

You could make a minor case for anyone else to trump him, simply because they’re either past their prime or terrible actors. But Phoenix winning makes too much sense and you’re getting him at an insane bargain.

Bet: Joaquin Phoenix (-150)

Worst Actress

  • Dakota Johnson (-200)
  • Jennifer Lopez (+225)
  • Lady Gaga (+350)
  • Cate Blanchett (+350)
  • Bryce Dallas Howard (+550)

While Dakota Johnson’s Madam Web may skate by while Joker: Folie a Deux takes the brunt of the Razzies thumping, I don’t think the actress should get away so easily.

Johnson is no stranger to poor acting performances, as she was borderline unwatchable in the 50 Shades of Grey series (all of which scored 25% or worse on Rotten Tomatoes) and she was even in one movie (Chloe & Theo) that scored an abysmal 6% rating.

She’s had her fair share of hits, too, but Johnson was next level bad in the unbearable Madam Web, where she failed to elevate a frail script and poorly executed vehicle. It wasn’t all her fault, but she did nothing to keep us from wanting to gouge our eyes out.

Jennifer Lopez is one of the most overrated actresses of all-time, while Lady Gaga is simply guilty by association thanks to her part in Joker: Folie a Deux. I actually didn’t mind her performance in the sequel, however, and Lopez – as bad as she always is – didn’t sniff Johnson’s lifeless performance.

Bet: Dakota Johnson (-200)

Worst Director

  • Todd Phillips (-150)
  • Jerry Seinfeld (+150)
  • Francis Ford Coppola (+300)
  • S.J. Clarkson (+400)
  • Eli Roth (+600)

This is another easy Razzies award prediction, as Todd Phillips quarterbacked the sequel to Joker. It’s arguable that he meant well, as simply running it back with the same look and feel was probably never going to cut it.

However, Phillips zigged way too far when any other director would have simply opted to zag in a more unique fashion. Where he knocked it out of the park in the first film, he was rudderless and tone deaf in the second.

There was massive potential with Joker: Folie a Deux, but Phillips dropped the ball and is destined to suffer the consequences for it. Much in the way of Phoenix being forced to live on the opposite end of things, Phillips will have to endure a debacle after creating a work of art.

Jerry Seinfeld has caught major heat for his forgettable film, while Francisc Ford Coppola failed to deliver a star-studded epic to the finish line. I tend to forgive Seinfeld and FFC, of course, as one is an inexperienced director and the other is 85.

Todd Phillips will see better days, but they won’t come this weekend.

Bet: Todd Phillips (-150)

Worst Supporting Actor

  • Jon Voight (-500)
  • Jack Black (+300)
  • Kevin Hart (+600)
  • Shia LaBeouf (+600)
  • Tahar Rahim (+1200)

I think there’s a lot of incentive to back the betting favorites at the 2025 Razzies, but worst supporting actor is one category where I don’t mind going against the grain.

Jon Voight is a massive favorite for this award, but at his -500 odds, he isn’t much of a bargain. He’s a good bet to win for his underwhelming work across multiple films, but much like I don’t feel like kicking an 85-year old director when he’s down, I’m not sure we should chastise Voight too harshly (now 86) simply because he’s getting old.

Instead, I’d rather focus on someone like Shia LaBeouf. What’s his excuse for terrible acting, exactly? Guys like Jack Black and Kevin Hart have never been confused with reputable actors, but someone like LaBeouf had at one point been viewed as a rising talent.

Those days could be in the rearview mirror, I’m afraid, as LaBeouf was completely forgettable in Megalopolis. That, and his +600 price is pretty alluring.

Bet: Shia LaBeouf (+600)

Worst Supporting Actress

  • Ariana DeBose (-400)
  • Amy Schumer (+250)
  • Emma Roberts (+600)
  • FKA Twigs (+700)
  • Lesley-Anne Down (+1000)

Ariana DeBose is a viable pick to win worst supporting actress for two reasons. First, because she is an alarming -400 betting favorite, but also because she has earned her nomination for suspect work in two movies.

Of course, I would suggest that she herself really wasn’t that awful, and it was more about being in Argylle and Kraven the Hunter. Those were admittedly films that didn’t take themselves too seriously, though, and were more revered in the eyes of fans, as opposed to film critics.

Let’s not forget, either, that DeBose has an Oscar win to her name. This isn’t some talentless actress; she’s a legit star that happened to latch onto some quick-money flicks that got awful ratings.

Due to that, I’m pivoting to Amy Schumer, who is easy prey after failing to impress in Unfrosted. You could argue that she’s not a traditional actress, and I’d agree, but her +250 price and the fact that she didn’t get it done in Jerry Seinfeld’s trainwreck is enough for me to pull the trigger.

Bet: Amy Schumer (+250)

Worst Remake or Sequel

  • Joker: Folie a Deux (-500)
  • Mufasa: The Lion King (+300)
  • The Crow (+325)
  • Kraven the Hunter (+500)
  • Rebel Moon II: The Scargiver (+1000)

Lastly, we come to the award for worst remake or sequel. There are actually several challengers here, as Rebel Moon II disappointed, Kraven the Hunter was about as lame as one would imagine, and The Crow – much like we all assumed – is a movie that should have never been touched again.

The first Crow movie was perfection, and whatever it is they thought they were doing in this remake was a total abomination.

Mufasa: The Lion King gets a pass. The +300 price tag is somewhat inviting and pencils it in as the second most likely movie to win this award, but it’s good natured and well intending.

The Crow? Horrific. Kraven the Hunter? Laughable.

Every movie does have a shot in this category, but all roads ultimately lead back to Joker: Folie a Deux. As I’ve said in other categories, it isn’t just that Joker 2 was bad (it was). It isn’t just that it was a failed musical, uber-hyped, had a star-studded cast, and cost a ton of money.

It’s all of those things, but also the fact that it followed one of the best comic book movies ever made. The meteoric free fall Joker: Folie a Deux endured cements it as the worst remake or sequel from 2024.

Bet: Joker: Folie a Deux (-500)
