Love him or hate him, Jake Paul isn’t going anywhere, anytime soon. The influencer turned boxer is fresh off a fight against Mike Tyson and already teasing huge boxing news in January. One can only hope that this news leads to a real boxing match against a credible opponent and not a 60-year-old retired athlete.

It’s also slightly amusing that “El Gallo” is taking to social media to announce an upcoming announcement just a few days after the news of a Conor McGregor vs. Logan Paul boxing exhibition.

Let’s also put into perspective that both of these Paul brothers made announcements the week of boxing’s biggest fight in Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk 2.

Circling back to the younger Paul’s latest buzz, there are plenty of rumors surrounding who El Gallo might fight next. And, of course, boxing fans and Paul’s critics are hoping that the younger Paul brother actually fights a competent boxer next.

With that said, let’s take a look at the latest Jake Paul odds, courtesy of the best sports betting sites, and examine the possibilities of who Paul might fight next. Additionally, we’ll make our predictions on these potential matchups.

Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson

Jake Paul’s last fight took place in November 2024, where he “boxed” Mike Tyson in Texas. It was an officially sanctioned fight, which most people still don’t understand how that happened. Netflix aired the event with numerous buffering issues throughout the fight. Oh, and Mike Tyson, was seen in a thong.

So, yes, the presentation of the fight was much more entertaining than the actual bout itself. Paul won the fight via decision. The entire ordeal has been met with criticism, backlash, and even lawsuits.

Tyson looked gassed after the first two minutes of the bout. He was sluggish for the rest of the fight and became a stationary target.

Paul would pummel Tyson for the back-half of the match and easily win via unanimous decision with the scores of (80-72, 80-72, 79-73). However, many critics wondered why Paul didn’t go for the knockout. This was something that the younger Paul brother commented on in his post-fight press conference:

“Yeah definitely [took my foot off the gas]. Definitely a bit. I wanted to give the fans a show but I didn’t want to hurt someone that didn’t need to be hurt.”

With that in mind, this fight accurately sums up the entire Paul brothers’ ventures inside a boxing ring.

Jake Paul Predictions

The following boxing prop bets are the latest odds on who Jake Paul might fight next:

Saul “Canelo” Alvarez vs. Jake Paul

  • Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (-1500)
  • Jake Paul (+750)

While Canelo Alvarez is apparently lining up a massive fight in 2025 against Terence Crawford, boxing’s biggest star has been called out numerous times by Jake Paul.

Unfortunately, Alvarez has shown no real interest in fighting Paul. Canelo has often been cited saying that he dislikes everything that Paul is doing especially with how it affects boxing. Additionally, Alvarez doesn’t feel that this would be a fair fight.

One person who agrees with this sentiment is UFC President Dana White, who is often at odds with boxing. White believes the bout would be over in 30 seconds:

“It would be a f***ing 30-second payday for Canelo. I don’t know why Canelo wouldn’t do it… Canelo can fight real guys, keep his credibility intact, and still make that kind of money.”

I fully agree with White’s belief that this bout would end quickly. Honestly, it would end however fast Alvarez wanted it to end. If he’s irritated or angry with Paul, then this bout doesn’t make it out of the first round.

Paul fighting Alvarez is like someone at your local basketball gym thinking they can beat Michael Jordan in his prime. Canelo is the best boxer of his generation and will go down as an all-time great.

These odds are actually way too low. Alvarez should be at least a -10000 betting favorite or however high a sportsbook will go.

Bet: Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (-1500)

Artur Beterbiev vs. Jake Paul

  • Artur Beterbiev (-2000)
  • Jake Paul (+900)

For those of you readers that don’t know, Artur Beterbiev (21-0) is the current undisputed light-heavyweight champion. He defeated Dimitry Bivol in October, to become the king of the light-heavyweight division and one of the sport’s pound-for-pound best fighters.

In other words, just like with Canelo, Beterbiev would destroy Jake Paul in a fight. However, the difference between Beterbiev and Canelo is that the light-heavyweight king wants to actually fight Paul.

In early 2023, Beterbiev made the following comments about a Paul fight when the influencer took a shot at him:

“Tell him to call me, call my promoter. I’m ready to fight him I think it’s an easy fight for me. Do you think it’s a tough fight for me? If I’m a real boxing champion I need to beat guys like Jake Paul in the first round, you know. But maybe something can happen but if I’m a real champion then I should be able to beat this guy in the first round.”

Yet, Beterbiev didn’t stop there. Following the Tyson fight, Beterbiev offered Paul a shot at the undisputed light-heavyweight crown. Paul responded on Twitter (X) in a cowardice fashion:

“Just seen this…. Top 5 pound for pound fighter in the world calling me out. Hahahahahah, 4 years in and I run this sport.”

In other words, Paul isn’t serious about fighting for world titles or real boxers. He rather play tough guy on social media.

As for this prop bet, the fight will never happen but it’s an easy wager Beterbiev to win.

Bet: Artur Beterbiev (-2000)

Who Is Jake Paul Fighting Next?

As of this writing, there’s no indication as to who Paul will fight next. All we have is the buzz over an upcoming announcement in January. Yet, if Paul truly wants to become a ranked fighter in the sport of boxing, then he has the chance by taking on “credible” opponents.

WBO President Gustavo Olivieri is not only open to the idea of Paul becoming ranked by his sanctioning organization, but he also laid out how the quasi-boxer can get ranked:

“As per the WBO position, if he qualifies and meets the criteria, why not rank him? He must also have a positive record, level of activity and suitable opposition. Again, we have to consider each case on a case-by-case basis.

One of the advantages that Jake Paul may have is fighting a cruiserweight. There’s no depth at cruiserweight. You need a big name at cruiserweight weight. Maybe Jake Paul is that name that the cruiserweight division needs… It is a mix of things but if he meets the criteria the WBO wouldn’t have any objection of ranking Jake Paul.”

I seriously laughed out loud reading these comments. But considering the WBO is well behind the WBA, WBC and IBF, it’s not a surprise that the body’s president would hype up Paul’s potential and layout the plan to get him ranked.

If Paul’s team was really smart, then they would actually follow this blueprint by fighting walking punching bags. There are plenty of “meat suits” out there that Paul could beat to work towards a WBO ranking. And, if he would accomplish this, then the Paul hype train would reach all new levels.
