NFL Draft Predictions
Check out our 2025 NFL Draft predictions for the latest NFL prop bets:
Team To Make 1st Overall Pick
- Tennessee Titans (-275)
- New York Giants (+220)
- Las Vegas Raiders (+600)
- New York Jets (+1400)
- Cleveland Browns (+2500)
- New Orleans Saints (+6000)
- Los Angeles Rams (+7500)
- Indianapolis Colts (+10000)
By virtue of finishing with an NFL-worst record of 3-14, the Tennessee Titans are officially on the clock to pick first overall. The Titans, New York Giants, and Cleveland Browns all finished 3-14, but the Titans won the rights to the top selection thanks to the strength of schedule tiebreaker.
The New England Patriots were in pole position to land the top pick heading into the season’s final weekend, but a victory over the Buffalo Bills ultimately cost the Pats the top spot. The -275 odds favor the Titans to ultimately make the first selection, but there’s always a chance a trade will shake up the draft order.
Teams trading the first overall pick is rare, but not exactly unheard of. Just a couple of years ago, the Chicago Bears shipped the No. 1 pick to the Carolina Panthers in a blockbuster trade. Carolina ultimately selected Alabama’s Bryce Young with that pick, while the Bears recouped a few useful players and future draft assets. The trade ultimately paid off for Chicago, as they earned the first overall pick in 2024 after receiving it from the Panthers in that very deal.
Reports indicate the Titans are open to trading the pick if they get the right offer. Tennessee certainly isn’t particularly close to contending for a Super Bowl. If moving the pick helps the team fortify its roster while adding more draft capital, a move would make sense.
The Titans could be in the market for a quarterback, as incumbent Will Levis has struggled since taking over as the starter halfway through his rookie season in 2023. A player like Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders would make sense for the Titans at No. 1, but they’re hardly the only QB-needy team in the league.
Tennessee is the most likely team to make the call at No. 1, but a team to watch is the Las Vegas Raiders at +600. The Raiders have been no stranger to making dramatic trades over the years, and Vegas could be looking to make a splash as they prepare for their first season under new head coach Pete Carroll. Las Vegas is currently armed with the No. 6 pick, though they could sweeten the deal if they’re motivated to finally get a franchise QB at No. 1.
The Titans are the safe bet, but the -275 odds offer no upside. Give me Las Vegas to make a splash here at +600.
Bet: Las Vegas Raiders (+600)
Number One Overall Pick in 2025 NFL Draft
- Abdul Carter (+135)
- Cam Ward (+150)
- Travis Hunter (+600)
- Shedeur Sanders (+1000)
- Jaxson Dart (+5000)
- Mason Graham (+7500)
- Deone Walker (+10000)
- Jalen Milroe (+10000)
While there are several quarterbacks likely to go in the top 10, this year’s class doesn’t have a can’t-miss type of prospect in the vein of an Andrew Luck, Peyton Manning, or Caleb Williams. While Miami’s Cam Ward (+150) and Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders (+1000) are candidates to go No. 1 overall, neither is the favorite as of now. Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter checks in at +135 to be the player whose name gets called first on draft night.
If a team like the Raiders trades up to No. 1, they won’t be doing it to take a pass rusher. So, if the Titans trade the pick, I’d be rushing to bet on either Ward or Sanders to become the first player off the board. However, if the Titans keep the selection, there’s a distinct chance they pass on one of the QBs and instead opt for Carter.
Most major draft analysts have Carter ranked as the top player on their boards. Some teams will reach on quarterbacks if they’re desperate, but smart organizations generally choose the best player available regardless of positional need. The jury is out on whether the Titans fall into the category of “smart organization,” but the fact that Carter has the best odds to come off the board first at +135 gives me reason to believe they’re giving the idea legitimate consideration.
Sanders’ college teammate – Travis Hunter – is worth a look at +600. The Heisman Trophy winner says he wants to play on both sides of the ball at the NFL level. Whether he can physically hold up well enough to accomplish the goal remains to be seen, but there’s no denying his talent and top-tier athletic ability. Hunter will be a useful weapon wherever he ends up, but his slight frame may prevent him from going first overall.
However, I do think the Titans will ultimately trade the pick. They can continue to build out their roster if they accrue more assets, and there isn’t a major gap between the top QBs in this class. Even if they miss on Ward or Sanders, they’d likely be happy settling on a secondary prospect like Jaxson Dart or Jalen Milroe later in the draft.
Because I like the Raiders to be the team that eventually lands the pick, I expect them to take a big swing. Ward may be the “safer” choice, but drafting Sanders would generate quite a bit more hype. What are the Raiders if not a hype machine? They’re in the business of drumming up fan interest in their new city, and drafting a dynamic, well-known player like Sanders is the perfect way to do just that.
Sanders is a phenomenal value at +1000 to go first overall. So, we’re going to buck the trend where some of the best handicappers are siding with Ward, to go with “Coach Prime’s” baby boy.
Bet: Shedeur Sanders (+1000)
First QB Drafted in the 2025 NFL Draft
Quarterbacks are always in high demand, and the race to be the first QB drafted is one of the most exciting aspects of the draft. Here are the top 8 options:
- Cam Ward (-500)
- Shedeur Sanders (+300)
- Jaxson Dart (+2500)
- Jalen Milroe (+6000)
- Quinn Ewers (+6500)
- Will Howard (+7500)
- Dillon Gabriel (+12500)
- Riley Leonard (+15000)
It’s interesting to see Ward now listed as a -500 favorite to be the first QB taken, especially considering Sanders has long been thought to be the best prospect in the field. We’re getting the Colorado product at +300 NFL odds to go ahead of Ward or any other player at the position, and I’ll have a hard time passing those odds up.
The rest of the QB class features plenty of recognizable names between Jaxson Dart, Jalen Milroe, Quinn Ewers, and Dillon Gabriel, but this will come down to Ward vs. Sanders. Give me the extra value you’ll get betting on the latter.
Bet: Shedeur Sanders (+300)
