2024 WWE Bash In Berlin Odds, Predictions and Rumors

Last Updated on

On Saturday, August 31, the WWE will be live from the Uber Arena in Berlin, Germany, for Bash in Berlin. This will be the first ever WWE PPV (PLE) event held in Germany.

Additionally, the August 30 episode of WWE SmackDown will also air live from the same venue. Prior to this show, the WWE will run three live events as part of their “Road to Bash in Berlin” tour.

This first-ever Germany PPV comes on the heels of a highly successful 2024 SummerSlam event, just four weeks prior. In that PPV, Gunther won the World Heavyweight Championship by defeating Damien Priest. He will defend the championship against Randy Orton this weekend in the assumed main event of the show.

The co-featured bout is an Undisputed Championship match as Cody Rhodes will defend his title against Kevin Owens. As you can see by the WWE Bash in Berlin odds, both Rhodes and Gunther are massive favorites.

As of this writing, there are five matches announced for the Bash in Berlin premium live event. However, in typical WWE fashion, you can expect the promotion to add more bouts by time the PLE arrives.

Currently, Bash in Berlin has a 1pm ET start time on Peacock. Let’s take a closer look at the available WWE odds, courtesy of the top sports betting sites, and make our WWE Bash in Berlin predictions.

WWE Bash in Berlin Predictions

The following WWE Bash in Berlin predictions are for the confirmed matches as of this writing:

United States Championship Open Challenge

  • LA Knight (-3000)
  • Any Other (+850)

LA Knight is reportedly set to have an Open Challenge match at the PPV for his US Championship. Does this mean we could we see Ludwig Kaiser make an appearance in front of his fellow countrymen? BetOnline has Kaiser listed as the odds-on favorite to accept the Open Challenge at -300 odds.

Kaiser has been recovering from an injury, but an appearance by him should still be expected. If there was a prop bet for this, I would bet on his appearance. I’m sure The Undertaker would join me on this wager as he’s a big fan of Kaiser and feels that the German wrestler will be a superstar.

Reports have come out that both AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura have both made the “Bash in Berlin” tour, which means either of these two wrestlers could also be considered for the Open Challenge. Some fans, albeit a smaller amount, are hoping that Logan Paul comes back for his rematch to reclaim the title he lost to LA Knight at SummerSlam in controversial fashion. These three guys will fall under the Any Other option available at +125 odds.

Recently, there have been some rumors swirling that a TNA superstar could make a surprise appearance. This betting option is listed at +800 odds. I doubt that the WWE would fly a TNA star to Germany for this Open Challenge. If anything, this would be an option for a PLE in the States.

As you can see by the WWE odds, and in my Rock voice “it doesn’t matter who’s coming out for the Open Challenge.” Oddsmakers clearly believe LA Knight is winning no matter who answers the Open Challenge at Bash in Berlin, even if it’s Kaiser.

Bet: LA Knight (-3000)

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match

  • (c)The Unholy Union (+100)
  • Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill (-140)

In June, The Unholy Union (Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn) won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship belts in a three-way match at WWE Clash at the Castle: Scotland. Fyre and Dawn defeated Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark along with the former champs Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill.

Since then, there seemed to be a bit of resurgence in the women’s tag team division as Pure Fusion Collective, Damage CTRL and the former champs of Belair & Cargill were all lobbying for a title match. The latter continued to state that they would get their titles back.

A match was set between The Unholy Union and the former champs on the August 2 episode of SmackDown. Cargill and Belair would win the match. Unfortunately, their victory was tainted as they won due to the champs being disqualified after Blair Davenport interfered. Since the titles don’t change hands on a DQ, The Unholy Union remained the champs.

This led to SmackDown GM Nick Aldis announcing, on the August 23 episode of SmackDown, that The Unholy Union would defend the belts against Cargill and Belair at Bash in Berlin.

Since the word “bash” is in the title of this weekend’s PPV, and the name of the tour, it’s an appropriate time to bring up how the WWE fans bashed AEW for supposedly dropping the ball with Jade Cargill and being foolish for allowing her to leave the promotion.

Fast forward six months later, and those same WWE fans started bashing the promotion and Cargill for not being good in the ring. Well, unfortunately, Cargill hasn’t gotten much better since the champs lost the titles in June. Yet, it looks like the WWE is circling back to Belair and Cargill to become champs again.

As entertaining and fun The Unholy Union is to watch, the WWE is going to make a big mistake by putting the titles back on Cargill and Belair. Sure, this duo looks like the epitome of female athletes, but Cargill’s inferior ring skills are just going to be the source of criticism and shoddy matches once again.

Now that the odds have finally come out, two days after this article was published, oddsmakers are finding it difficult to place their confidence on one team or the other. As you can see Cargill and Belair are slight betting favorites to win the titles once again. This provides us with an opportunity to gain some decent value from the team that most pundits and fans feel will win the match. Take Belair and Cargill to recapture the tag-team gold.

Bet: Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair (-140)

Mixed Tag Team Match

  • The Terror Twins (-300)
  • The Judgment Day (+200)

At SummerSlam, Dominik Mysterio turned on his longtime partner Rhea Ripley. Not that I deserve too many flowers, but it was a heel turn that I definitely saw coming. Check out my comments for the Morgan vs. Ripley match at SummerSlam:

“If HHH needs some advice, I say turn Dominik against Ripley and have him cost her the match as he unveils his newfound love for Liv. Let’s get that “love for Liv” trending as a hashtag on twitter.

The WWE odds already indicate that most sportsbooks believe Morgan is winning. For the sake of advancing everyone involved in a meaningful, and obvious way, take Morgan to win via help from Dominik.”

Following the Ripley loss, Damien Priest would go on to lose the title to Gunther at SummerSlam. However, a storyline reason for that loss was due to Finn Balor coming out and betraying Priest. For the conspiracy theorists, Gunther won the title because Priest wasn’t drawing numbers.

On the August 5 episode of RAW, The Judgement Day came out and booted both Priest and Ripley from the faction. The two longtime members were left out in the cold while the group would now consist of Balor, JD McDonagh, Carlito, Mysterio and Liv Morgan.

Later on, during the same RAW episode, Priest and McDonagh had a match. Balor would come out and interfere. Ripley would then come out to make the save for Priest.

On the August 12 episode of RAW, it was announced that a mixed tag team match would take place between Morgan & Mysterio versus Ripley & Priest who are going by the name The Terror Twins. This is an awful name and I really hope the WWE comes to their senses sooner than later.

I can only imagine the look on Ripley’s face when she was given this name. It’s like straight from the 1980s Vince McMahon playbook.

As for this match, we really need the WWE to see the big picture here. And, that’s to continue the feud between these four, along with The Judgment Day, for the next few PPV events. So, having Morgan and Mysterio win this match, due to outside interference, would go a long way towards continuing this storyline with the emotions and intensity needed.

Despite the odds leaning heavily towards The Terror Twins, I’m sticking with my hope and desire to see Morgan and Mysterio to win. I think there’s more mileage to be had with the heels cheating to win than there is with The Terror Twins getting an expected victory.

Bet: The Judgment Day (+200)

WWE Strap Match

  • CM Punk (-500)
  • Drew McIntyre (+300)

For most of 2024, CM Punk and Drew McIntyre have been feuding whether it’s been in the ring or on social media. It has definitely made for entertaining moments despite the fact that Punk was unable to wrestle due to his injury suffered in the 2024 Royal Rumble men’s match.

The storyline can be traced back to the 2023 Survivor Series PPV when CM Punk made his return after a decade away from the WWE. He immediately stole the thunder from Seth Rollins and McIntyre which irked both of the wrestlers.

After Rollins and Punk began a feud, McIntyre was brought into the storyline further by Punk eliminating him at the Royal Rumble. This led to a social media feud between the two especially since Punk was injured, which McIntyre relentlessly teased him about.

McIntyre would go on to earn a world title shot at WrestleMania against Seth Rollins. The Scottish Warrior ended up defeating Rollins at WM to win the title. CM Punk was a commentator for the match and attacked McIntyre after the match. This allowed Damien Priest to cash in his MITB contract and pin McIntyre for the title.

The rivalry between Punk and McIntyre intensified greatly after this WM attack. However, it also set up a match at Clash at Castle: Scottland where Priest and McIntyre would compete for the title in an actual bout.

Unfortunately for McIntyre, but fortunately for this heated rivalry, Punk would cost the Scottish superstar another title opportunity. Pretty much Punk did everything to make McIntyre’s life miserable and it worked.

This all led to a grudge match at SummerSlam, where Seth Rollins was the special guest referee in order to muddy the waters of this feud. It worked, and eventually, McIntyre would go on to beat Punk. However, the ending to the match wasn’t without controversy and conflict.

If you recall, a few weeks prior to SummerSlam, McIntyre stole Punk’s bracelet which had his wife’s and dog’s names on it. During the SS match, Punk got the bracelet back. However, after he dropped it, Rollins went to pick it up for Punk who ended up thinking that Seth was sabotaging his match.

This led to Punk attacking Rollins, thus continuing the anti-love triangle between these three wrestlers. Oh, by the way, McIntyre would steal the bracelet again.

On the August 12 episode of RAW, McIntyre and Punk engaged in another brawl. However, this time, we saw Punk whipping McIntyre with a belt. One week later, Punk announced that RAW GM Adam Pearce made a strap match for the two at Bash in Berlin.

The strap match has been a highly popular stipulation in the history of pro wrestling. In fact, many pundits and fans lump the strap match together with a chain or bull rope match. They’re pretty much all the same rules.

In the WWE, there have been many great matches that have fallen under this umbrella. In fact, both of these men have participated in this type of match during their WWE careers.

In 2009, CM Punk battled Umaga at Extreme Rules in a Samoan Strap Match. Punk would go on to win that match after hitting a GTS on Umaga to touch the fourth corner. The match earned a 1.5 stars from Meltzer, as it was not a great match. This was the same PPV where Punk would cash in his MITB to win the title from Jeff Hardy during their memorable feud.

In 2022, Drew McIntyre battled Karrion Kross in a strap match also at the Extreme Rules PPV. It was the first real feud for Kross on the main roster. The two men would have a series of matches that included this bout. Kross would go on to win the match due to outside interference from Scarlett who sprayed a can of mace in McIntyre’s face. Meltzer gave this match 3.25 stars.

My two favorite WWE strap/bull rope matches were Eddie Guerrero vs. JBL at the 2004 Great American Bash and Steve Austin vs. Savio Vega at the 1996 Beware of Dog PPV. I won’t go off on tangents about how great these matches were. Just look them up on YouTube or WWE Network and enjoy.

As for this Bash in Berlin match, I fully expect CM Punk to win. This will even the series at one victory apiece. We can then have the rubber match (third bout) at Bad Blood. I would prefer the third bout be a Hell in a Cell blow-off match at Bad Blood, as it would be bloody and more memorable.

Keep an eye on how WWE integrates Seth Rollins into this weekend’s match and moving forward. For all we know, he could interfere and there’s no winner, but then WWE sets up a three-way match at

The odds came out a few days after we published this article, and Punk is now listed as a -500 betting favorite. I expected Punk to be the favorite, but I actually thought the odds would be higher. Regardless, take the safe bet here and wager on CM Punk to even up the series.

Bet: CM Punk (-500)

WWE Undisputed Championship Match

  • (c)Cody Rhodes (-6000)
  • Kevin Owens (+1500)

Are we ready to see another Kevin Owens heel turn? If the WWE was smart, they would use this opportunity to turn Owens heel just like he has done in the past with Chris Jericho and Sami Zayn.

Heading into this week’s Championship match, the two men have been aligned for the better part of the last year due to their mutual rivalries against The Bloodline.

At SummerSlam, Rhodes retained the title against Solo Sikoa after Owens helped fend off additional Bloodline members. We also saw the return of Roman Reigns, which was probably the worst kept secret this summer. Reigns ignited the feud with Sikoa and The Bloodline, which was the group that Roman founded and led for two years.

Following SummerSlam, Sikoa came out on SmackDown and demanded a rematch. Rhodes declined and stated that Solo didn’t deserve it. This prompted The Bloodline to try to attack Rhodes. However, Owens came out and made the save.

So, Rhodes would go on to declare that Owens gets the title shot at Bash in Berlin. Owens rejected the notion based on his win-loss record. Yet, Rhodes pushed it with SmackDown GM Nick Aldis and the general manager made it official for Germany.

The WWE isn’t fooling anyone here. They don’t have any other major feuds for Rhodes right now. The Bloodline is going into a full Samoan Civil War, which leaves Rhodes out of the equation. Sure, he could team up with Reigns at some point but they need matches for the Universal Championship in the meantime.

As an in-ring worker, Owens deserve the title shot. As a storyline character, there’s no point of having him in a title match. You can see by the odds, that sportsbooks don’t give him any chance to win. Rhodes is a massive betting favorite and I wouldn’t be surprised if the odds surpassed -10000 by time the PPV arrives.

The only meaningful step for this match is to have Owens turn heel. The WWE can make Owens pissed as he takes offense to Rhodes’ act by stating he doesn’t need anyone’s charity. We could have a classic Owens heel turn that puts him back into the spotlight in a more meaningful way.

Another conspiracy theory for this booking is that the WWE is only doing this because Owens has less than six months left on his current contract and has not agreed to a new deal as of yet. It’s a classic “dangle the carrot” in front of a wrestler to entice them to stay, but then continue to bury them in mid-card purgatory after they do sign the new deal.

When it comes to this contest, there’s really no reason to wager on Owens even with the creative suggestion I laid out. In fact, there’s no reason to bet on this match at all due to Rhodes’ inflated betting line.

Bet: Cody Rhodes (-6000)

World Heavyweight Championship Match

  • (c)Gunther (-5000)
  • Randy Orton (+1200)

Last year, I kept stating that Gunther would be a world champion in 2025. Although I thought that world title win would come at WrestleMania, having him win the world title at SummerSlam was almost as good. Gunther should’ve never lost at WM as it was a dumb booking decision. Yet, having him win the world title was a smart one as Gunther is a star with the fans, pundits and his peers.

The story between Gunther and Randy Orton actually makes sense and is a good way to give the champ a big win in his first PPV title defense. As you can see, the oddsmakers don’t believe that Gunther will lose. He’s just about as big of a betting favorite as Cody Rhodes is.

With that said, at least this match isn’t a storyline stretch like the Rhodes vs. Owens match is. There’s a legit reason why these two men are wrestling. And, that stems back to the King of the Ring event in May of this year.

Both Gunther and Randy Orton competed in the 2024 King of the Ring tournament. Orton defeated AJ Styles, Carmelo Hayes and Tama Tonga on the SmackDown side to earn his spot in the tournament final. Gunther defeated Sheamus, Kofi Kingston and Jey Uso to earn a spot in the finals and wrestle Orton.

However, the KOTR Finals ended in controversy as Gunther got the victory over Orton, but Randy’s shoulder was off the mat when the referee counted to three. After the show, Triple H said that the referee’s decision was final, but there would be a rematch between these two men at some point in the future.

Well, say hello to the “future” because that time is now. After Gunther won the title, he appeared on the following episode of RAW to deliver a victory speech. That speech was interrupted by Orton who reminded everyone about his controversial loss and that he wanted his rematch at Bash in Berlin.

Of course, Gunther agreed and the match was made. Although we know that Gunther isn’t losing, this bout will be a hard-hitting contest. The physicality of it will definitely be entertaining in a brutal manner.

WWE added a stipulation to the match, which won’t really matter because Gunther isn’t losing. That stipulation is that if Orton wins, he will be moved to RAW and Gunther would be moved to SmackDown

It would be funny if this match ended in controversy as well. However, the odds of that happening are higher than Gunther’s moneyline for this weekend’s bout. Orton is a legend, but Gunther will win this match on Saturday.

Bet: Gunther (-5000)

WWE Bash in Berlin Prop Bets

The following WWE Bash in Berlin prop bets are courtesy of BetOnline:

Will Jade Cargill Turn on Bianca Belair?

  • Yes (-125)
  • No (NA)

Oddsmakers are favoring Cargill and Belair to win back the titles. How would they do that if Cargill turns on Belair unless she does this after they win. What sense would that make? If they do a heel turn, it should be the reason that Belair and Cargill lose the match. With that said, I don’t think that Cargill is ready for a prime feud against Belair. Keeping her in this tag team will allow Cargill to continue to evolve as a wrestler. Save the heel turn for later this year. Skip this bet as there isn’t a “No” option.

Bet: Don't Bet

Will The Bloodline Interfere in the Undisputed Championship Match?

  • Yes (+200)
  • No (NA)

It would be nice to see The Bloodline stay away from this match, if the WWE goes the route of turning Owens heel. The stage needs to be big enough for the fans to fully soak in a heel turn, if it does happen. Having The Bloodline come out and interfere is only going to make this match feel more cluttered. Now, if the WWE decides to play this match straight up and keep Owens as a babyface, then please have The Bloodline come out and beatdown both men and the creative team for a wasted opportunity. As for this wager, I would skip it.

Bet: Don't Bet

Will Cody Rhodes Bleed?

  • Yes (-130)
  • No (-110)

I’m at the point where I think that Cody Rhodes is going to bleed in every big PLE match. With that said, I do think he will bleed either during this match or afterwards. I am holding out hope that Owens turns heel and brutally attacks Rhodes after the match. This would result in Rhodes bleeding.

Bet: Yes (-130)
